Richmond International Airport is about 70 miles west of the hotel. This location is also three miles from the University of Virginia, five miles from Ash Lawn Highland and Jefferson Vineyards, 22 miles from Barboursville Vineyards, and 30 miles from Montpelier and the Oak Ridge Estate. Worst hotel I think I've EVER stayed in!

Priceline users beware! They claim this to be 2 1/2 stars and I give it maybe 1/2. First, the rooms were filthy. We requested non-smoking and of course got ashtrays with beds. Next the pool smelled like urine. The coffee maker didn't work. There was a roach, yes, a roach in the room. The breakfast, which was just your typical continental style with a few hot items costs $10 per person! This place is a total joke and should be stripped of the Holiday Inn name. I'm ashamed to carry a Priorty Club card. We went across the street and for the same money stayed in a nice Quality Inn with a great FREE breakfast and nice clean rooms and great staff. The Holiday Inn was terrible!!

We had no choice but to take a smoking room. Never again. This room smelled so bad. The carpet was very dirty. I did not feel this room was clean. I have to admit however the bed was clean. There was dog waste found behind a chair. When I called the front desk to let them know all I received was an "I'm sorry, have a good night!" Unbelieveable. They do not up hold their promise of satisfactory. Will never stay in this hotel again.

Everyone was so friendly and accomadating. The room was nice and confortable. We took our dog with us and the hotel has walking area with container to dispose any dropings. Food very good. Fantastic breakfast bar. Friendly servers and staff. Elevators fast. Someone to assist at all hours. Good directions. Everyone acts like they enjoy their work and are proud of their hotel.

We asked for a non-smoking room, and the room was designated as such. However, it smelled of smoke and was very musty. There was mold in the shower area and on the curtains in the main room. The carpet and the bathroom floor were also very dirty. The pool was OK and staff was nice enough, and the proximity to Monticello and downtown Charlottesville was great, but that would not be enough to make me want to stay here again. There are so many other hotels in Charlottesville, I would recommend trying to find something else before staying here.

Pet Friendly

When we were moving across country with our two pets, we needed a place to stay where our cat and dog would be welcome and that was the Holiday Inn. We were put in a room at the end of the hall to keep hallway noise to a minimum (so the pup wouldn't bark) and there was plenty of grass around for walking him after driving in the car.

Monticello is wicked.

Monticello was wicked good. Boston doesn't compare at all with the great history there. The pool was amazing. And was conviently locatedd next to candy machines and the work out room. I loved this hotel and the staff was grade A+. The room also had a lot of good accesories. The T.V.'s were huge and I was able to pleasently watch the Michael Jackson case on Court TV.
