Lacking Customer Service

I had stayed in this hotel before (just a few weeks ago even) and had no problem with my room then. It was a "larger king room" which was spacious, well maintained, and clean. This past weekend I had a different room (given that there were more people traveling with me). The difference was insane! We were on the 2nd floor in a room with 2 double beds. The list of problems is extensive:
1) The tv was dying. Everything was green no matter how you adjusted the color settings.
2) The in-room refrigerator and the heater made such a racket that it was impossible to sleep.
3) There were not enough towels in the room. The room was designed for a maximum of 4 people. We had 5 washcloths, 3 hand towels, and 2 bath towels for 3 people.
4) Housekeeping "forgot" to clean our room. We were gone from 10-3 on Saturday and returned to find that they had not emptied the trash, replenished the towels, or cleaned a single thing.
5) The front desk staff was unhelpful to say the least. When I complained about the cleanliness of the room on Saturday, the front desk attendant made no attempt to have the room cleaned (despite the fact that I could see the housekeeping staff in the back). She just rolled her eyes, explained that housekeeping must have "forgot" to do the room and asked how many towels I needed. How does one forget to do their job and still stay employed!? When I checked out and voiced more complaints about the room including the noisy appliances and dying television, the same young woman didn't even pretend to be paying attention or to understand what I was talking about. She gave some speech about how the tv the employees watched randomly adjusted the height and weight of the people on tv. If the employees spent more time doing their jobs and less time watching tv, perhaps the hotel would be in better condition?
The only part of this hotel which was decent was the bed. It was mercifully comfortable. Everything else? Completely forgettable! If you're like me, and enjoy the benefits of a Choice Privileges membership, I recommend the Quality Inn on Peter's Creek Road near the Roanoke airport. The staff there is prompt and courteous, the rooms are always clean, and the free hot breakfast is substantial and delicious!
