America's Best Inn, Brattleboro

would not recommend this place for my pet! Staff, rooms were horrible ! Filth, smell, rooms falling apart. The two n half star rating.......way to much credit. And do not try to get refund owner (T) will talk the sweet talk and will probably be out of town most of the time. Rude !

We arrived late and it was a last minute place to stay, bad choice! It is filthy, smells like old food and rot, floor is falling apart, absolutely no maintenance done in the last ten years, crawling with bugs. The staff was not helpful at all and the rooms were very overpriced for what you get... Breakfast is so awful, it was in an old dining room and the food was left out all day, consisted of old donuts and bagels. No food safety at all! Trust me..I do not recommend this place to anyone!

What probably started as a clean and comfortable economical motel has deteriorated in to condemnation. The bathroom has hair from previous guests all over, mould propagates throughout the shower and the grouting on the tiled floor is a combination of dirty brown to black (original grey can be seen if you look carefully). Some how, hair from previous guests remained on the otherwise clean towels. The floors slant toward the middle with the highest point being near the front and back of the building with a gradual down slope toward the centre of the room (which would be great if a major flood ever comes along). Some lights worked while other lights didn't and the bedding/sheets appeared to be clean (though there was no black light immediately available). Because of a no vacancy in other hotels in the area, this was our hotel of last resort; don't make it yours! If the other hotels in Brattleboro have no vacancy, drive the 60 miles to Springfield,MA. Trust us, it'll be worth it.

Hotel looks promising from a distance. Once you enter a room let the disappointment begin. Tile in bath room did not cover the floor. Paint peeling on ceiling in shower. The wallpaper was coming off the wall in the bathroom and the they tried to convert a smoking room into non with an air filter. Beds were also itchy. We were supposed to say two nights but decided to just find another place to stay. Rate was good but the room was not

We stayed for one night in November 2007. Paid about $58 plus tax for a king size bed. Room was a good size, clean and neat. Everything worked that needed to work. Person behind the counter was very friendly. Maybe a little run down, continental breakfast is very minor. But compared to prices for other options in the area, this is a good deal and we would definitely stay there again.

.......ABSOLUTELY! WE STAYED THERE MANY TIMES OVER SEVERAL MONTHS OF TRAVELING THROUGH BRAT. FRIENDLY STAFF, HELPFUL WHEN NEEDED, PRICES WERE FAIR. THE ONLY DISCOURAGEMENT I HAD WAS WITH THE PHYSICAL CONDITION OF THE ROOM ITSELF. THE BEDS ARE OUTDATED A BIT AND THERE IS SOME MINOR REPAIRS/FIX-R-UPS NEEDED TO ADD SOME NEWNESS BACK INTO THE ROOMS LIFE. THE CLEANLINESS, AND SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE STAFF ALLOWED US TO OVERLOOK THE DISCREPANCIES IN APPEARANCES. THANKS FOR THE EARLIER BREAKFAST ACCOMODATIONS!

My wife and Kids took a vacation to Vermont; we stayed at the Best Inn. Close to the highway and it seemed like there might be some local charm. The staff was awesome! Monica (the desk manager I think) made our stay memorable. She even remembered our dog's name! Rooms were a little small but comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
