Green Mountain Inn, Stowe

I liked the location, however if you are not prepared to pay top dollar for a room in a seperate building (luxury) fireplace, jacuzzi, coffee machine, a few more towels, it could work for you..if you went with the everyday discounted room near the pool, beware it was like staying in a cellar, musty, noisy and extremely damp and cold in May, you have to turn on the heat to get the musty smell to move around not out..the breakfast included (not the continental) was very decent, very friendly people who were very accommodating and friendly..would probably choose another place next time.

Room was great. Clean, well maintained and the beds were very comfortable. Dinner at the Inn was great. If I was to go back I would stay here!

There wasn't anything that disappointed me about this place. We stayed in a luxury suite and I would say it's worth the extra money. Lots of space with fireplace, hottub, large bathroom and seperate living area. Everything is very clean and well maintained. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer. Perfect for a romantic getaway!

I can not understand the bad reviews for this place. My husband and I spent our a long weekend here and can't wait to go back! The staff was extremly helpful and friendly, the room was spotless, the breakfast was wonderful, and we had a great meal at the whip. What more could anyone ask for. please don't let the bad reviews here scare you. The Green Mountain Inn was everything you could hope for.

The Green Mountain Inn was a perfect place for us to have a romantic getaway for our wedding anniversary. The Inn was beautiful. Our room was fantastic (we enjoyed the fireplace and the jacuzzi tub). The town of Stowe is a town with un-describable charm (you must experience it for yourself!). Kudos to the staff at the Green Mountain Inn for making us feel welcome. Thank you to the town of Stowe for all of the great memories.

Awful, awful, awful. Charming from the outside but a huge disappointment inside. Overpriced. Extremely noisy. We were awakened by tour buses and trucks that began passing by our window at 6:00am. Aloof, unconcerned, apathetic front desk staff. We were practically shrugged off when we approached them with concerns. Corny decor in rooms. Dirty and worn out carpet. No coffee pot in room. You have to get cleaned up and dressed to go downstairs and fetch coffee. Forget about a leisurely cup of cofee in your pajamas first thing in the morning! No room service. After a busy day we could not stretch out, relax, and enjoy a convenient, leisurely meal. No bellman. Plan on lugging your suitcases on your own through the parking lot and to your room after a long drive. Insufficient number of bath towels and minimal toiletries provided. Bartender and breakfast staff were brusque and rushed. Small, cramped stuffy room with musty odor.

The people who worked at the Front Desk were snobs and could care less about you and anything you needed. We had a Standard Room: small, overpriced, and lacking alot of necessities. They only gave us two towels for two people. When we asked for more they seemed very irritated and sent the people from the front desk to come bring us towels. Housekeeping did an OK job at cleaning, but it still seemed a bit on the dirty side. No concierge, no bellman, no one to assist you with your luggage accept the rude people at the front desk. The guy at the front desk was not very good at recommending sights and restaurants... The traffic noise was awful. We had a room that overlooked the Main Street, and it was just miserable. Starting very early in the AM, trucks and buses would come through. The room was also quite stuffy, even though we didn't have the heater on. The food at the restaurant was alright, and the Inn was kind of close to some shops and restaurants. Those were the only two positives. Do not stay here...It looks charming but it certainly isn't!!

Mice in the room, hair in the food, and a staff of high schoolers that could care less! This inn is not nearly up to par in comparison to its neighboring competitors. Very dirty and overpriced. I'd highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Food great, service non existent. Expect to be treated as an inconvenience by staff at Ye Ole Whip. My advise, choose another place to eat.

I am a seasoned traveler and this particular Hotel deserves a 10.You can choose a location,you can choose the size of your Hotel,but you cannot choose the employee's that will pamper you.My hats off to all the staff at the Green Mountain Inn....They were all a 10 plus during our stay there.I will be back again for many reasons,but the largest advantage they have is their staff.
