Not worth $199 per night.

My husband and I spent a night at this hotel and all I can say is "this is absolutely not worth $199, $179, $159, $139 or even $109. I wouldn't suggest paying anything over $99 per night for this place. Our room was on the 14th floor. As soon as the elevator doors opened the smell of raw sewage hits your nose. I mean, like how your basement smells after it floods, that's how bad it is. Our room was ok but the bed was really hard (we stayed at a Drury in Houston and that bed was absolutely fantastic). The bathroom door was a heavy, frosted, sliding door versus a regular door and it didn't have a lock on it. The shower had a double shower head but you couldn't adjust them. If you tried, the heads just turned like stripped screws and worst of all the water wasn't nearly hot enough. The shower ran for 15 minutes before it started getting warm and it never got much more than warm. We called the front desk about the sewer smell and the lack of hot water and even though the clerk was very pleasant, she was dumb as a box of rocks. Five minutes of talking to her made us question if we were truly in an "upscale" hotel.
One thing though, make sure that you are careful with the refridgerator/cabinet. They have "goodies" (cookies, chips, candy, water, soda) in the fridge/cabinet that are for sale and they are on sensors. If you move/remove the items you will be charged for that item plus a 20% service fee and 8.5% tax. It is automatically added to your bill. Kids tend to grab that stuff without thinking so be careful.
On a couple of positive notes, my husband's suit got really wrinkled from the flight and when he sent it down to be pressed (at 10:00pm) they had it back to him by 10:30 pm and didn't charge him for it. Also, if you are a shopper, the hotel lobby leads into the Galleria Mall which is really convenient. The Galleria has more upscale stores, Macy's, Nordstroms, Tiffany's, Gucci, Louis Vuitton etc. and has an ice skating rink right in the center of the mall.
This hotel is an upscale hotel wannabe...don't be fooled.
