Won't stay here again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/09
I did not like the service. Great front desk staff, but horrible room service staff. We did not know this was a pets accepted hotel. There was a girl with a black chihuahua and a woman with an Australian shepherd off leash. The Aussie tried to get into the elevator with me. The staff cleaning up ignored the people with their dogs off leash. The employees at the breakfast buffet were not very friendly. They would only have one person manning the buffet and she kept leaving. There are clubs behind the hotel and there is a lot of noise from them. Our key cards kept erasing? We stopped going to the breakfast..and went to the grocery stores in town to eat and get good service w/ a smile. We didn't feel welcome in the hotel at all.

Loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/07/08
This makes the third time my husband and I have stayed at this Best Western and it will not be the last. The rooms are very clean the beds are comfy, the service is excellent. The front desk clerks are very very helpful with directions and/ or tips. We enjoyed having Danielle help us with places to go. The one thing we do miss is the hot breakfasts we used to get, hmmmm, but other than that we recommend it to everyone. The hotel is convient to aalot of places, but my favorite is just stepping out side onto the seawall and enjoying the view. There are several small parks you can walk to or drive and just sit and enjoy. Thanks again for a great visit, we will be back. Mr. Mrs. Donnie Townsend

Experience was awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/07
I called several times to make sure we had a king reserved on the 2nd floor. They required a CCard, which we did. I told them I wanted as much quiet as possible. They placed us directly by the elevators. We heard the rolling of the concierge carts most of the night. When we told them the next day, they said "you should have told us immediately". I asked them if they meant I should have called them the minute I heard one cart at 11pm at night. They said yes. I asked them for an adjustment. She said only $10. They only had a queen to move us to that was away from the elevator. It smelled musky the whole time, the beds were terribly uncomfortable, the "wireless" advertised was down most of the time, and the front desk person screamed at me because I would call and let them know that there were problems. They did not have another king to put us into, so we had to stay put. It was a nightmare, and in addition to the the front desk person made us feel like it was our fault, and would holler at me and then hang up on me. They said they would call back but never did.

By Jorge C, 06/02/07
Great location, clean rooms, great price, don't count on the continental breakfast though - other than that I could not have picked a better hotel.

Pleasantly surprised
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/07
My husband put me in charge of hotel accommodations for our stay in Corpus Christi and being the frugal half (read: cheap and practical) of the partnership, I looked for a venue that was conveniently located, nationally known, had high-speed Internet, and less than $100 per night. We were both pleasantly surprised to find those things and more at the Marina Grand in Corpus. Aesthetically speaking, the exterior of the hotel is nothing to write home about, but the interior is nicely appointed and inviting. It is obvious that the site has undergone renovation. The staff was very accommodating and friendly; they acted like we were old friends returning for another visit. Our room was nice and clean with a good view of the L and T Heads. Our "cleaning lady" noted after the first day that we used only the decaf coffee packet, and we had two of them awaiting us on subsequent mornings. The breakfast staff on the 11th floor was also very nice. With the exception of the facial tissue, which waslike 600 grit sandpaper, everything was top notch and a dollar well-spent. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Marina Grand.

We can't wait to go back!!
By jason, 03/08/07
I had read other reviews after I had booked our rooms there and I must admit I was a little worried. They are currently remodeling but it never bothered us. What a great view!! Clean, and the most helpful, friendly staff. The only cons.... Non-smoking, and the breakfast bar was always packed with not much food left. Great location though. Within walking distance to great food and fun. We will stay there again on our next trip!

Beautiful view, great value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/06
Clean, friendly, right on the water and affordable. The staff was very efficient and helpful. I will be sure to go back when in town again. I would also recommend this hotel to others wanting a great view at reasonable prices.

Excellent!
By Matt, 03/22/06
I love this hotel. The view is great. Walking distance to everything. Clean, free internet access, free gym, free breakfast. Check out the view from the area where you eat the free breakfast. Also, check out Water Street Oyster Bar and Restaurant which is right next door. There is a two story Whataburger right next door that we ate at almost everyday. I have stayed at hotels all over the world, Germany, Japan, California, Washington DC, Outer Banks of North Carolina, New York, Florida, Virginia Beach VA, and this is my favorite hotel..

A Poor Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/05
Back in February we planned to stay for several nights but the general air of dilapadation was depressing. It looked as if nothing had been done to the place since the 1960s. At Night the noise of the air conditioner became oppressive so the helpful staff alllowed us to move rooms. It still sounded as if we were in a cheap cabin on a Banana Boat! We left after one night.
