Pleasantly surprised

My husband put me in charge of hotel accommodations for our stay in Corpus Christi and being the frugal half (read: cheap and practical) of the partnership, I looked for a venue that was conveniently located, nationally known, had high-speed Internet, and less than $100 per night. We were both pleasantly surprised to find those things and more at the Marina Grand in Corpus.
Aesthetically speaking, the exterior of the hotel is nothing to write home about, but the interior is nicely appointed and inviting. It is obvious that the site has undergone renovation. The staff was very accommodating and friendly; they acted like we were old friends returning for another visit. Our room was nice and clean with a good view of the L and T Heads.
Our "cleaning lady" noted after the first day that we used only the decaf coffee packet, and we had two of them awaiting us on subsequent mornings. The breakfast staff on the 11th floor was also very nice.
With the exception of the facial tissue, which waslike 600 grit sandpaper, everything was top notch and a dollar well-spent. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Marina Grand.
