Civic Plaza Hotel, Abilene

I recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed with both the quality of our room and my overnight accommodations. Extremely clean, comfortable beds, with an attractive and modern decor both in my room and throughout the hotel. Free Hi Speed Internet, Satellite TV, nice fridge/microwave and a good-sized bathroom which all made me feel right at home. The bathrooms were clean and roomy. The breakfast area was spacious and sparkling, offering a nice variety of foods. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in during my many travels and I would highly recommend this to other travelers. The hotel is very nice and up to date.

I love the fact that this hotel is located in downtown Abilene, there are many nice local stores and museums in walking distance. The restaurant was closed but they had a nice, free breakfast including, waffles, muffins, biscuits and gravy, cereal, orange juice, milk, toast, etc. There is a great restaurant just two blocks down the street called the Beehive, it is an often overlooked gem in Abilene as well.

This is by far the nicest Rodeway Inn Downtown Convention Center I have stayed in. It is an absolutely beautiful place and unbelievably affordable. More importantly, the front desk staff was beyond courteous and helpful. I have never experienced such amazing customer service from any other place of lodging. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were fantastic. The location was good. Rodeway Inn Downtown Convention Center is definitely at the top of my list and hopefully we will get to return very soon.

I stayed at this hotel about two years ago and swore I would never return, but, then, I read that the hotel was under new management/ownership and that they had been remodeling. I am glad that I decided to give it another try, The interior and exterior has been totally remodeled, two years ago I truly believed this place was on its last legs then viola. The rooms have been remodeled to the last detail, fresh paint, tubs refurbished, new linens, new curtains, chairs upholstered, new carpet, I had to ask about the changes and met the new owner who explained to me that he had actually been spending a lot more than he was making to refurbish the hotel. The restaurant was great, the front desk staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and the housekeeping staff does great work, The only thing needed was landscaping the shrubs seem to have grown out of hand, but I am sure that is on the list. They have installed security cameras throughout the premises and have a manager on site 24-7. Couldn't believe the changes, getting a room larger than most of the new hotels, at 50 - 60% of the price. The pool is wonderful as well. My new home away from home when I visit Abilene.

Has free wi-fi and HBO, great staff, remodelling is beautiful. They have really come a long way in just a few short months. Rooms are spacious. The sidewalks need repainting. NIce quiet downtown area.

Hotel is older not one of those newfangled places and you can get a great deal on a room just by asking, hotel staff is friendly and accomodating, if you have a problem with a room they will move you. One of the reviewers was complaining about dogs barking in a room, hey guess what it says pets allowed on the website and at the front desk, sorry, just hate ignorance, anyway, the place is 30 dollars a night cheaper than anything around so quit putting on airs, its much cleaner than most of your houses, and give it a try. They are undergoing renovation changing the look of the hotel, should be superb when they are finished, they told me it would take about 5 weeks.

WHEN WE CHECKED IN ---THEY DIDN'T HAVE OUR RESERVATIONS CONFIRMED..AND WE USED OUR REWARDS PROGRAM (BY PICTURES) WHEN WE GOT TO OUR ROOM, IT WAS CONNECTED TO ANOTHER ROOM AND YOU COULD HEAR HUGE DOGS BARKING IN THE ADJOINING ROOM...MADE MY 3 YEAR OLD CRY. ASKED TO CHANGE ROOMS....OK...WE DID, AND NASTIER THAN EVER!!! WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER STAY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY GAVE LOW RATINGS BECAUSE ZERO WAS NOT AVAILABLE. AND I FORGOT...WHEN ASKED FOR CLEAN TOWELS, STATED THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANYMORE AND THAT MANAGER WASN'T THERE SO THEY COULD GET ANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND NO EXTRA TP

terrible hotel/ i checked in/ looked at the parking lot with worry/ untended grounds/ torn blinds in windows/ broken screens hanging off windows/ empty beer cans on steps to my supposed room/ black mold filled corner of bathtub/ absolutely horrific/ not to mention the women at the desk cannot speak english well/ i should have known when there were only two cars in parking lot/ and on top of it all, they put me in the building furthest away from the 'front desk' dont stay!!!!!! i luckily got away/

Was given one price on phone and when arrived price was higher. Front desk clerk could barely speak English. Room smelled old and looked old too. I thought it was very overpriced! Management was not on site and front desk would not address your problems or concerns. Stay away from here!!!!

This is the dirtiest motel I have ever seen! This place smelled foul and there are fleas and roaches EVERYWHERE! I do not recommend this place to anyone!
