Family HATED the Crowne
By ,
We booked 3 rooms for 2 nights, so the family could visit nearby Six Flags. The check in time was 3:00p.m, and we had made reservations for all three rooms to be “Room Type: 2 DOUBLE BEDS NONSMOKING” and close to each other. We arrive at 3pm, and they have no rooms for us, and suggest we stow all our bags in a storage room, and they will “look” for some rooms, we missed the shuttle to 6 flags, and had to wait an hour until the trolley came by again. After a debate at the counter, they "found" us 3 rooms, saying they had a hard time because they didn't have rooms close together, but when we made the reservations, and they took my credit card, they had the rooms close together (that is the reason we booked at their hotel). The rooms they gave us were not the same as we reserved, but when you are standing at the counter with 10 people (5 kids), that is not the time to argue. Two of the 3 rooms were the wrong type, they had a pull out couch (not comfortable) for a second bed instead of a queen, the family members who got stuck with a pull out couch for a bed were not happy! The only room that was the right type (2 queen beds), the AC didn't work. You have to pay $11.50 per adult for the breakfast "buffet", my wife gave my 5 year grandson a roll when we needed to leave, and we got to buy a whole meal because she "shared" the roll with him. The hotel sent up a plate of cookies to each room, this was supposed to make up for sleeping on a couch instead of a bed? They gave me 25,000 priority club points to try and make up for their behavior. The general manager (Jeremy Skinner) seems to be good at writing rebuttals to reviews, but where was he when I needed him? If the hotel didn’t have the rooms I RESERVED, why didn’t they notify me so we could have found suitable quarters? I feel we were lied to by the front desk, and I don’t want cookies or points when I travel, I want hotels, that if they take my reservation and money, to honor that arrangement.

not that great
By ,
Likes: Nice room and comfortable bed. Dislikes: Cold shower- water was luke warm at best. In the winter, they do not allow you to turn the air conditioner on, so it is hot in your room. Attempted to get room service and no one would answer the phone.

Not good for the money
By ,
The ONLY reason we stayed here was for the indoor pool ( we have kids). There is no free breakfast, there is a breakfast for $10 per person!! We ate at their restaurant for dinner and ended up leaving after waiting for 2 hours to get our meal and then it was awful! it is a pretty hotel but that's about it. Wont stay there again

Not great!
By ,
Upon arriving the hotel is very nice looking. The rooms are big. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was very warm. We called the front desk and asked to have the air turned down because it was too warm. The lady on the phone said she would be glad to get someone on this. They never took care of this. We also went to the Ranger game on Saturday night and took the shuttle van. The gentleman who took us told us we would need to catch the trolley after the game and took us to the trolley pick up point in front of the convention center and showed us where the trolley would pick us up. After the game we returned to the trolley pick up point in front of the convention center and no one was there. After a while we called the hotel and they sent someone to get us after the lady on the phone was short and hateful with us. Also the pool was very cold for an indoor pool the staff said a new heater was being put in that day.

not a pleasant experience
By ,
i needed a nice hotel for the weekend. i was sure that the crowne plaza would be that hotel for me. unfortunately i was wrong. the service was nothing to brag about. in fact they were quite rude on several occasions. my room looks nice however when you put your feet on the carpet you realize they havent cleaned it in years. very grungy and dirty carpet. im scared to take my shoes off. now on to the value. i received a nice discount when i booked and was able to stay under 100 dollars a night. wow, was it not worth half. other than the two previous issues of bad service and grungy carpet in the room, there is no continental breakfast. they nickel and dime you for everything. the breakfast offered is a ten dollar all you can eat. sure its all you can eat but my goodness ten dollars? did the hotel not make enough from the overpriced room? in fact im suprised i got free internet access. needless to say i was not happy with this hotel and would be much happier at a lower rate, lower star hotel where they actually treat you well. i will not ever be back - ever.

Possibly stay there again
By ,
Hotel was nice, but a little noisy and a little hard to get to and find. The staff was friendly, but the breakfast was too high priced for what you were offered. Not enough regular coffee and condiments in the room.

Stop Looking! This is it.
By ,
I took my boys to a Ranger/Yankee game in May/06. After doing much research and hotel comparisons I decided to try the Crowne Plaza Suites mainly because of the good reviews. I have never stayed in the Arlington area before. The Crowne is very clean and well maintained. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to please. When I inquired about driving instructions to the ball park the desk clerk informed me that a shuttle would take me to the park and pick me up after the game. All I had to do was call. The shuttle was ready to leave at a moments notice and after the game the shuttle was there waiting to pick us up. A quick in and out with no hassles. The rooms are clean and the furnishings appear to be new. Check out the breakfast buffet in the morning, it's the best deal in town. Fresh fruit and even your own cook that makes omlets and pancakes. We decided to do this every year from now on and our hotel of choice will be the Crowne Plaza Suites. Don't waste your time looking for hotels, this is it, stay here you won't be dissapointed.

Great Place But....
By ,
The staff and service were great!!!!!! The openess of the place was excellent. But.... The breakfeast was well priced, but was kinda of blah for my tastes, there is a Waffle House just down the road. Speaking of just down the road there is nothing with in walking distance to this place. Although restaraunts and shopping are just a short drive away. The freeway is close though and so are the parks. Being in Arlington on business, this palce was mid-way to Dallas & Ft. Worth which made it easy to get to both places. The room was very clean, roomy, it had everything you could ever want. The bed was very comfortable and room service was good. The only bad thing is that the windows do not open. Makes it kinda of claustrophobic. This place is very good with an attentive staff.
