Budgetel Inn and Suites San Antonio, San Antonio

This hotel was in a vacation pkg with Southwest Airlines. That is a bad idea. The bathroom was dirty and never cleaned while we were there 4 nights. It was supposed to be nonsmoking but it smelled like cigarette smoke. I had to go get room deodorizer. The walls looked like they were spot painted to cover stains, but they didn't cover all of them. We took showers with flipflops on because the bath tub looked questionable. The coffee pot was broken,but I did get a better one from office. In the 4 days we were there(due to pkg deal) I did not see the ladies at front desk give a welcome smile at customers. The evening maintenance worker was nice and responsive to our requests. I saw other people leaving the hotel very unhappy. Southwest should take this hotel off of their pkg deal.

I booked a room at this hotel for my family and I before I read the reviews. I guess the old saying goes don't judge a book by its cover. Try it out for yourself. Our stay was excellent and the kids loved it. We will be back.

This hotel is in a state of low repair. Most mornings shampoo, cups or soap were missing after housekeeping came through. The staff however were very friendly and helpful. The internet service was non-existant, and the staff did not know how to fix it. I had some very important internet work I needed to do and was unable to get it done, so if you have to rely on the internet for anything important I would choose another hotel. The location is very good however, close to the airport, theater, malls, freeways and many other things.

The room we stayed in was dirty. You could tell it hadn't been vaccumed in a long time. The comforter and blanket had holes in them. There was dirt or something unidentifiable hanging from the ceiling. The only good thing about it was the pool was open for 24 hours and there was a Denny's within a few feet, which had pretty good and cheap food. However, next time we will be staying somewhere that was not so cheap. I guess you get what you pay for!!

The place smelled bad. Upon checking in the room had no washcloths, no soap and very little toilet paper. No one was available to sen the items up to the room so two trips were necessary to get these things. The deluxe continental breakfast was very minimal, toaster waffles and danishes, cereal. Two adults and two children. Would definitely not stay there ever again. Located in strip of strip clubs.

My family was embarking on our first family vacation in a long time. With me were my husband, my 13 y/o son, and my 10 y/o daughter. This hotel would be bad enough for adults, but it was especially disturbing with children, for the following reasons: *Located in the midst of strip clubs *Overrun with stereotypical gang-types hanging out at the entrances - not smoking or anything else, just standing around in the way when we tried to go in and out *Gang symbol (the symbol for the Mexican Mafia) carved into one elevator *After checking in, a girl who looked like a heroin junkie opened our door _with a key_ and stumbled into our room *Booking agent called hotel management to discuss our request for cancellation for the remainder of our stay and was _lied to_ about the proximity of strip clubs, one of whose signs we could read from our room window - right down to the drink specials
