heaven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/08
This was a slice of heaven. I loved the view, and the air condition was great as well. It was no Hilton but we are not paying for a Hilton room. The next time I come down here I am staying here again and bringing my sombrero.

We are coming back, for sure!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/07
It was very friendly. It was clean. It wasn't fancy, but then we aren't paying a fancy price. It's walking distance for restaurants and beach, and the free bus stops at the door. It is not 'fancy' but then we aren't fancy people and we aren't spoiled. We are seniors and we appreciate all the things they do for us. I guess if you are rich, go to an expensive place!

Will go else where next time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/07
We stayed at this hotel for a week, an for the fact it was off season I guess 40.00 a night wasnt bad price but will be happy to pay more for another hotel next time, first the toilet wasnt the best flushing thing in the world had to flush at least 3 times to get it to go down, the lobby had ants on the counter where the breakfast was being served an the clerk said watch out for the ants, coffee was cold, or they were out of coffee an when asked about it they said oh you want some , well it will be about 10 mins, the donuts were in a box that were stale an dated 2 days past due day, the hot tub was not hot, not even warm, asked the office about it an was giving run around being told we will tell the manager at 4 when she comes in, the next day I was told we will get the maintance man which they never did, the room smelt of mold, ceiling had water stains in it,but as I said for 40.00 bucks you get what you pay for, but next time I will go elsewhere

Ran down hotel GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/06
This place is awful. I was awared of the location and the fact that this is not a 5 star hotel and I was ok with that. However, when I went into the room I realized I had WASTED MY MONEY. This is a run down place in great need of maintenance. The carpet was very dirty and the room smelled bad. The toilet did not drain properly. The room had an AC problem; it was warm even at night. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Very unfriendly people.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/06
Was there for the Police olympics June 2006. Asked for 7:00am wake up call and got a 5:00am wake up call. Checked out and not even a "have a good day" or "thanks for staying." Went inside to ask some questions and girls act like it is a burden on them. Police Olympics will be there in 2008 and 2010. Will make sure the officers know to stay away from Best Western. VERY UNFRIENDLY

This hotel went down the drain but our water wouldn't!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/05
I have stayed at the Best Western Fiesta Isles hotel before when vacationing with some friends in South Padre Island, Texas. My first stay with this hotel was in 2002 and it was great. We got a great price, a nice king suite with a bay view, clean room, and overall great memory of that stay. Only complaint was it was not beach front, but we knew this when reserving the room. Our fault, not theirs! We went back to SPI in June of this year and decided to stay at Best Western Fiesta Isles again since we had such a great time last visit. This time was a different story. We immediately noticed the hotel was a lot more ran down than our last visit. When we arrived the lady in the office was very rude and seemed to be mad at the world. We didn't let that bother us so we went up to our room (another king suite). The room had definitely degraded in quality since last time. They are in desperate need of some renovating. The rooms smelled of mildew and the linens were dirty. The extra blanket they had in the drawer smelled horribly of mildew as well. The door leading to the balcony took 2 men to open and close to go in and out of the room. The AC leaked all over the floor constantly. The worst part was the drainage in the bathroom. The bathtub would not drain at all so as you take a shower you are standing in a good 2 ft of dirty water. We reported it and were told to buy some draino or they could bring up a plunger. That is sick and not what we paid $160.00 a night for! Never again! We are going back next week and this time it will be beach front at a resort. Adios Best Western, it was good while it lasted but you guys need to get it together.

good experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/19/05
We stayed in a king suite for 3 nights and we were comfortable. nice balcony off the bay, you can fish there. pool was clean, very nice. Only trouble was a smell from the fridge, and parking lot was pretty tight when full. Location was comparable to other chains on the island. It is not onthe beach, but between the laguna madre and gulf. no direct beach acess!

We had to leave!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/05
We stayed here one night. After that, I had to find another hotel. It was too far from the beach and island shops and not very clean. After one night I found a much nicer hotel closer to the beach and shops for a much better price (Budget Host Flamingo Motel).

Needs New Management
By Dara, 05/15/05
The room was nice, a very good size. Management needs a serious overhaul. When the toilet backed up, we called the front desk. They came handed us a plunger and left. One morning we were a little early (literally 5 min.) for the continental breakfast and the management commented that breakfast starts at 7:00 AM,even though breakfast was already out.
