Good location but that's all
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/15/11
The morning we were checking out, my husband was brushing his teeth and the water was shut off! I was to get in the bathroom after him to shower & dress for our trip that morning. Obviously with no water, that didn't happen nor could we use the toilets. No word from anyone that the water would be shut off nor no word, when the water was shut off ,about why and when the water would be turned back on. We stayed in the room waiting for at least an hour and gave up & left. Not too happy about the incident but glad not to have been in the middle of a shower when the water stopped flowing.

Great Place, Great People
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/10
Staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist in any possible way. We went for a late night dinner after we got in and the meal was good. Great portions. We had excellent service, especially restaurant staff. This was our 1st trip to Tennessee and I must say people are very friendly here. Rooms were fine, clean, beds were very comfortable; all the amenities one would require. Thanks for the great stay! Christine from Ontario, Canada

Won't be back
By Yahoo, 12/2/09
The lobby was ok. The hallway was dingy and dusty. Bathroom was not clean and room had a musty smell.

One of the worst hotels I have ever been in
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/29/09
Except for the lobby, and the front staff, this place is a poor excuse for a hotel. I am amazed at the grubby run-down condition of the rooms, and lackadaisical attitude of many of the staff members. When I went to take a shower, I discovered that there were hairs on the wall and tub, and to my horror, the shower curtain liner was covered in mold. (Not the only cleanliness problems.) They did bring a new shower curtain, but so much about the room was seedy and not clean that it was creepy. (To be fair, the bed was comfortable and the linens were clean.) I was also disappointed that when we called to request that the late-night revelers in the next room be asked to remember that they were not alone in the hotel, the security guard came and was going to walk away without doing anything, because nobody was yelling at the top of their lungs at the moment he was standing there, although there was still a lot of noise. My roommate had to ask him to wait about 5 seconds so he could hear the big party (after midnight, for the 3rd night). By way, the walls are very thin, and there are big gaps under the adjoining and front doors--it felt like they were in the room with us--but they were also unbelievably noisy--you could hear them down the hall. To top off the whole thing, I did not get a wake-up call (I have NEVER had that happen, not even at discount motels), and missed a meeting. When we were leaving, I mentioned to the bellman that the place was kind of seedy, and he said they are getting to undergo renovations. That is still no excuse, as they could keep the attitude, service, and cleanliness at least up to minimum standard. Chattanooga is great, and the conference I was attending at the adjoining Convention Center was great, but this hotel was the pits.

What a great job
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/7/07
I really did love this place the second time I went back because they had the most softest pillows and beds that I had ever laid on. As soon as I layed down, I went straight to sleep. The rooms was really clean and service was real great. I just cant wait til I come back with my church family for another great place to sleep and for another concert at the Convention Center.

OK stay at the Marriott
By Judy, 4/30/07
Got a very good deal bidding through Priceline, but I would not pay full price for this hotel. Although the lobby was elegant and the elevators really cool, the rooms really need a makeover. The wallpaper was peeling, the furniture was chipped and the bathroom was not the cleanest. Although it is several blocks, walkable, from the downtown attractions, it is closer to a not so nice section of town. A very aggressive woman approached me and my young sons asking for money about two blocks from the hotel. If you are paying full price for a hotel, there are much nicer, newer hotels for the same price that are more convenient to the downtown attractions. If you bid through Priceline, you can get a great rate at about half the rack rate, and that would be the only time I would recommend staying here.

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/07
From the moment I arrived I was extremely dissappointed. The valet personal was too busy parking cars for the event next door than for the paying hotel customers. They had no one to unload luggage and the rooms were a step above a Days Inn. Seriously outdated. The outdoor pool was on top of a roof surrounded by a wooded fence, which happened to be my view! On top of all that they had a fairly empty hotel yet found a way to put someone directly next door. Nice touch. With all the choices I had in Chattanooga I picked the wrong one!

I will go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/07
I really enjoyed my stay at hotel. My husband said that the front door was not very tight because he heard everything in the hall way. other than that he enjoyed his stay.

Was Hard to Leave
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/07
I was at the Chattanooga Marriott Convention Center celebrating my friends' 30th birthdays. The 14th floor room was very nice with a great view. The service was friendly and quick and the ultra comfortable beds made it hard to leave the hotel. I can't wait to be able to stay again even though I live in Chattanooga.
