No Other Place Like It
By RONALD, 11/29/09
My husband and I have been going to Gatlinburg 32 years and discovered Gatlinburg Inn about 25 years ago. We go several times during the year and would not consider staying anywhere else. It is the "cleanest" hotel in the city and the charm of the hotel is wonderful. Mrs. Maples is a true "southern lady" and the staff truly displays a warm southern hospitality. She adheres to certain rules for the tranquility of the guests who stay there.

Turned a man & wife away ?
By Thomas, 09/17/09
I have been there several times. But the lady that wrote saying they were turned away just because they was on a motor bike, I hope that is not the way they do business. I have never rode on a motorbike, i just don't like hearing anyone being treated like that. I hope they filed a complaint ..

Completely Offended
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/09
My husband and I were turned away from staying at this establishment solely because we were riding a motorcycle. Upon entering the reception area (with helmet in hand), I inquired about the availability of rooms and was told that yes there were rooms available, but the gentleman behind the desk said they do not rent to individuals on motorcycles (inn policy). My husband and I have enjoyed riding a motorcycle for many years and have never been turned away or treated so rudely. My husband and I are very respectable, clean-cut individuals with no criminal or troubled background. I am an accountant and my husband is a plant operator for our local municipality and is a special deputy for the county in which we live. We feel that we were treated with blatant discrimination and are extremely offended with the manner in which we were treated. On our return trips to the Gatlinburg area, even if we travel by car, we will never patronize such an establishment. Management, you should be ashamed of yourself for discriminating!!

We will be back!
By Jackie, 06/11/09
We have seen this Inn many times but it is off season. This year we made it in May. What a great place! Besides the best price for a very comfy room and the perfect location, you feel like you are Grandma's house. The place is spotless! We were even shown the room prior to deciding if we wanted to stay there. The staff is wonderful! You feel so safe knowing that someone is watching the grounds all night. Enjoyed just sitting in the rockers on the front porch and watching the people go by. We had a family suite with a beautiful view. Make sure you take the time to read the articles along the halls and to check out the old photograhs. If Mrs. Maples is in the lobby take a few minutes to visit with her and hear about the history of Gatlinburg and of the Inn. We will be heading back in a few months. This will be our new hotel destination while we are in Gatlinburg during the Inn's open times. Thank you Mrs. Maples for making us feel welcomed and safe!

A gem in Tenneesse
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/07/09
We love the Inn. It fits in with the mountains, and the hospitality of Tenneesse. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. It's in the center of all the places one needs to be. The security there helps us sleep better at night, *****

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/08
When my children were small we stayed here and adored it! We were always treated like family. Now that my girls have found there own place in the world I often visit just to get away. Thank you Mrs Maples for all the great memories, Julie Garrett

Gatlinburg Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/18/08
We have stayed there three times in the last few years. I love it. I took my kids there, and had a blast. The ladies are nice, the lobby is fascinating and it is close to everything. I would recommend this place to everyone. It is the best place to stay in Gatlinburg. I like the fact that I did not have to drive anywhere. Everything was in walking distance, and the 24 hour guard was great too.

Kid-friendly
By MIKE, 12/31/07
I a 12 years old, and although many sites claim that The Gatlinburg Inn is not "kid-friendly", I loveloveloved it. My family got a family suite when we went there, and we found, when the door was opened, a georgeous display of what southern hospitality and beauty is. On the beds lay a poem entitled "Sleep Sweetly", and on the dressers pre-stamped postcards. The suite consisted of two bedrooms, the master witha King-sized bed and the other with two twin-sized bed. Each had a television and they were connected by a clean and spacious bathroom. The master bedroom had a very spacious balcony which wrapped around the hotel's corner. You have to be quiet when staying at the hotel, but honestly i dont think anyone cared abot the volume level because there were only about 20 people there. The service was great too, we were treated like family!!! Many people probably dont even bother because the Inn looks expensive, but for that hospitality and beauty, plus Eat-off-the-floor cleanlieness, the price is practically theft!!! 5 STARS!!!!!!!!!!! 2 THUMBS UP!!!!! I cant wait to go back!!!

Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/07
We have been going to gatlinburg for years and walked past this hotel many times but never went in. We decided one day to go in and it's like going back in time 50 years! The facilities have been well cared for and the staff is very friendly. I stopped and talked to an elderly lady sitting in the lobby, we talked for over 20 minutes on various topics, she then introduces herself as Mrs Maples, the owner. Just to sit and listen to her tell stories about the hotel and Gatlinburg was a treat. My wife and I enjoyed our stayed, this is an older hotel but it is extremely clean and the hospitality was superb.

I had the time of my life!!!
Was driving thru Gatlinburg with no intention of staying the night. We pulled into the Gatlinburg Inn just to look inside. We were overcome with the wonderful people that greeted us. We decided to spend the night. Then the next and the next and the next. Close to everything. We walked everywhere. Right next to the Skylift. Mrs R.L Maples (owner) was on hand to tell us the history . 70 years same owners. The family values they express is like going back to your childhood. Clean, quite, comfortable and friendly. America needs more places like the Gatlinburg Inn. God Bless the Gatlinburg Inn and Mrs Maples. Johnny and Margie Watkins
