Didn't know room came with Camel Crickets..!!
Where do I begin? 1st.. I really don't like sharing a room with camel crickets...dead and alive..(and seemed to stay in our room with us for the 4 days we were there) 2nd..the room was really hot, and the air didn't work unless you stood directly over it. 3rd..no one told us there was a continental breakfast or where it was, so we had to go into town each morning to find food. 4th..the bed was soooo hard and uncomfortable I think we would have been better off in the parking lot..As for value..NO..this place is in bad need of an update and quit living in the past...5th...when looking at the ameneties before I booked...really??? my room had nothing they mentioned on their website...I know for a fact, we will not be staying there again...too bad I can't get a refund..!!

The Fabulous Chalet Inn to the rescue!
By ,
After being very disappointed with the hotel that I had originally booked for the weekend, my husband and I were sent out searching for an acceptable replacement at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. There was a youth convention going on that weekend, so most hotels were booked up. We just stumbled upon the Fabulous Chalet Inn and figured we would try our luck. Not only was the front desk clerk very friendly and helpful, but he also gave us a good deal on a king bed/fireplace room. He also booked us in a building away from the teenagers, so we would have a nice and quiet stay. The room was older, but clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the bathroom floor was heated. The bed was comfortable, but I recommend bringing your own pillows. It is walking distance to the strip and our room had a beautiful view of downtown Gatlinburg and the river. Overall, the Fabulous Chalet Inn saved our weekend and we will definitely not forget it!

Loved It !!! Will be our place to stay
By ,
Hubby and I chose the chalet so we could enjoy our 24th anniversary.. when we arrived the staff was friendly and moved us to our room very quickly. The room was very spacious, kind of like a suite .. we got the king with a fireplace, it had a living area with sofa and chair and then the bed area was seperate with a very comfortable king bed with lots of pillows, I was very surprised that they changed the sheets on day 2, since i had already made it before we went out. The room had a great view of the town and the mountains and was within walking distance to town. Only thing that I can think of that could be better is the breakfast .. will opt to go out for now on.

I've aged better than the \"fabulous chalet\"
By ,
We spent our honeymoon 25 years ago at the "fabulous chalet" and wanted to recreate the romance - only to be sadly disappointed. A dump, totally outdated and beyond its prime. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, even the in-laws. Only shining point is the thought that we've aged better than the "chalet" itself. Refund sought!

Great Time at the Inn
By ,
The Staff was great, very friendly and approachable. They got us checked in quickly when there were several others checking in at the same time and the phone ringing non stop all while smiling and being very courteous to the guests. The room was clean the view of the creek was refreshing. We spent every night sitting on our balcony talking while watching the creek and wildlife there. The continental breakfast was delicious. They had a staff member making fresh waffles for the guests with fresh toppings for the waffles. It is just close enough to the strip to walk and far enough away that you don't get all the noise of people walking by and cars beeping. I'd definately stay here again.

never again
By ,
I had called and booked a room with a jaccuzi, when i registered i was given a room with a filthy bathtub and a shower that i could not regulate the water it was always too cold or too hot. The cost for this Hotel was not worth the money. I booked two rooms for four nights and the cost was 760.00. We had to walk up a steep hill, for the continental breakfast, as i have trouble walking i never got to enjoy the freebies they offered. why no breakfast at this chalet???

We Still Talk About It
By ,
We have travelled to Gatlinburg many times and lodged in different motels, but none better than the Fabulous Chalet. It has a charm that is endearing and enduring. It is within walking distance of downtown, yet has the privacy of a mountain lodge. The staff made us feel at home. They were extra friendly and helpful. Both riverview and mountain view rooms are great. We stayed in both. The upper pool area was fantastic! We will be back. (CAN'T WAIT!!!) John & Susan McGuire Garrison, TX (Visited June, 2006)

Gatlinburg's Dungeon
By ,
I felt as if I was in a dungeon making my way to my "Chalet." We had to walk down some steps and down this hallway and we were surrounded by cold stones and small weird statues. Get to the room and felt like I was back in time a few decades. Hair dryer looked like it belonged in the 1960s- (box shaped). The room was quite musky and we had to buy air fresher to help, but could not get rid of the nasty smell. We were supposed to have a "river view" which was more like a view of a road. Firewood was unavailable- and believe it or not but October can be chilly! Plus even if firewood were available they wanted $20 for it when the room was quite overpriced at $100 night already. You couldn't pay me $100/night to return to this "chalet." Plus the bathroom had no curtains with shutters that would not close and anyone over the height of 5 ft 5 inches passing thru the hallways of this little dungeon will see you whether they wanted to or not while you were showering. Called the front desk and they had no curtains in any rooms and staff did not offer to come and cover up the windows. This is the perfect place for a peeping tom! Water pressure was horrible, as was the temperature of the water.

Too expensive for what you get..
By ,
We stayed one night there, we paid for nice big room with a fireplace..the fireplace NEVER worked. We tried to tell the people at the front desk. They were not concerned. They already had our money. When we went to breakfast the woman who was making waffles was apparently tired and quit so what she already made was all there was...and that wasn't much to choose from. Pretty sad.
