Super 8 Spearfish Sd, Spearfish

I stayed at this Super 8 location in November of 2007 when I was passing through. My needs when staying at this hotel were safety, convenience, budget, and pet friendly (I was travelling with my cat). This hotel met all my needs very well. When checking in, the service was very quick and efficient. I had made reservations via the Internet, and they were very well prepared for my arrival. There were no additional charges for pets. I received my room key and proceeded to a room that was spacious and clean. The room had a recliner, desk, dresser, microwave, mini fridge, and bed, but the TV was small and awkwardly placed. They had free wireless Internet, which was great! The bed was fairly comfortable and the shower had fine water pressure. One of the great benefits of this hotel was the proximity to I-90. After exiting, it was a matter of 2 minutes before I was in the parking lot of the hotel. The only complaint that I have is that the parking lot for the rooms that were in the back of the hotel did not have adequate lighting. As a young female travelling alone, this made me very nervous. More security lighting would be needed to make the lot feel safer, as it faces an empty lot. The breakfast left something to be desired as well. I would not recommend this hotel for a romantic trip, as the setting definitely does not facilitate that, but if you're looking for a room that is clean and budget friendly, this would be your spot.

The service was not horrible but we were hoping for a smile of at least a hello or anything. The rooms are located by the pools witch means going to bed with screaming kids outside the door. We also found various bugs in our room witch really freaked us out. When we went to the desk to tell them about our problem she asured us that there wernt any bugs and turned away. The worst stay ever.

We stayed here 3 nights out of 18 days on the road and it was by far the nicest motel we stayed in. The room (the VIP suite)was roomy and very clean. The pool was the nicest of all the places we stayed. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone.
