Don't believe the good reviews! Total Fraud!
By T., 08/04/09
This hotel is a fraud. They lure you with beautiful photos of rooms that DO "NOT EXIST at this location. Don't believe any of the good reviews as I suspect they were written by the owners or their friends. RUN! RUN! RUN to a different hotel! I am calling the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce.

False Advertisement

When you get to this location you will be shocked it looks nothing like the pictures posted. It is a very dated and unkept hotel to say the least. It is a room if you dont have another place to stay but that is about it. Even the very basic hotel supplies such as soap, shampoo, toilet tissue, and coffee are not readily available to guests. If they have a housekeeping department they must have been on strike for a long while now.

Terrible! and NOT as Pictured online
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/09
We made our reservations online and expected the hotel to look like the charming photos on the website. These pictures were entirely fabricated and looked nothing like the hotel, which is a low dive. This was a terrible experience.

3 rooms later
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/13/09
I stayed at this place a couple of days ago...for a couple of days. When we checked into the first room...it looked like someone had been murdered. The floor was dirty with red stains, and the bathroom wasn't finished. (AND THE CLOSET WAS LOCKED!!) We had to ask for another room. Our second room came with 2 beds that you just sunk in...comfy though. We left to go visit my uncle and when we came back our keys didnt work! Every time we left that happened! Our tub had a hole in the side. We finally asked to see a suite...i tell you that was WAY better than a room. Everything was better. The pool was...a little dirty though. The place needs to be swept again for spiders, after the owner go bit by a brown recluse he had it swept...they're still there!!! On my grandparents bed in the 2nd room were red stains...gross! SO if you stay at this place...just take some bugspray, Febreeze, AND YOUR OWN PILLOW!! Oh and remember... get a suite! NOT A ROOM!

we will go back....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/08
the staff was so helpful, the rooms were so clean, it was so quiet, the breakfast buffet was free, and so wonderful, they had so much food... hard boiled eggs, gravy, grits, juices, milk, three kinds of ceral, oats, and so clean... outside our room were hamocks to relax in, it was close to so many things, yet, far enough away from the hubbub that you could really sleep well, we were able to bring our little dog, it was just overall a wonderful experience...

Turned to a Contractor Motel
By None Ya, 08/13/07
If you like staying in a place where contractors cook in front of the room and drink late into the night, this is tha place for you. No staff on site to fix the leaking toilet. We had to put towels to keep the bathroom from flooding.

Clean hotel, luv the bed, but the bathroom...
By shana s, 07/07/07
if we go back to that area, i may consider staying there again. the only thing that would hold me back would be the bathroom. it is just so tiny. i am not a huge, huge person, but i do like room to move around. the tub & toilet is in an area about 8'x 5'. and the shower is a great height if you are like 4.5' tall. when i was my hair (which is really long) i had to bend so far back, til it actually hurt my back and i am 5.8' tall. the bathroom looked to have been painted recently, but really needs a good update. the shower was so backupped, til it was like taking a shower and a bath at the same time. it tub held about 6" of water while showering cuz the drainage was so slow. we did get in the pool once, however i was scared to touch the side. we have a 4yr old also, so that was even scarier. the water was clean and clear, but there appeared to be black looking stuff stuck on the cement. we were also charged a small fee (like 2 cents) for making local calls on the phone. the room was GREAT!! nice and clean!! and ohhh, the bed was the BEST that i have ever slept on in a hotel. i even told my husband i wished i had one like it at home. this bed was a plus with the back problem that i have. the room looks like is was recently updated, carpet was clean and soft. bedding was also clean as were the towels/washclothes. we were on a 5n/6d vacation. the 1st 3n we were in the myrtle beach area, then the last 2n, we were in pawley's island at best western. if we had of know about b/w, we would have stayed there all 5n. we paid b/w 89.00 a nite on the weekend in june whereas most other hotels were double that, some even triple. i've told people if i go that way again, i'd stay in pawley's island. this is so much better than staying in myrtle beach with all of the crowd & some of the run down hotels on the beach. my opinion, alot of hotel on myrtle beach should be shut down cuz they are very nasty looking. i told a few ppl that i would not stay in some of those hotels if i were offered it for free. best western was quiet and not that crowded. i think it is a good family area!! overall, on a scale 1-10, i would give best western a 9. the bathroom is the only thing holding it back from getting a 10. however, if i had to choose between a small bathroom or a good bed (like b/w has), i would choose a good bed. so, 4.5* for best western!! we enjoyed it!! also, i did not report to the desk about the slow drainage or the pool, so they may have or may not have taken care of it.

They must not have a maintenance dept.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
We received an excellent rate to stay at this hotel and we had many issues with this facility. When we got there, after a long check-in, we had keys that didn't work. Then, we found a short in the hair dryer/socket and the toilet had to be manually flushed. We let them know twice about this and it was never fixed. Upon checking out, we told them a third time and received a comment, "Sorry bout that." On Saturday, when we had one hour to shower we came in to find no bath towels. They said it would be awhile but after telling them our situation, we received two, followed up by two more later. The continental breakfast consisted of Little Debbies, old apples, cereal and coffee. One bed was very hard and the other was a little better. The room was clean, but really needed a bathroom renovation. The room was quiet. We are very disappointed in the customer service we received on our beach vacation. If you are going to stay here, you want to request a room on the back where it's much quieter. The front rooms are right along the road. Please remember that this hotel is very far from most attractions, like the beach and shops.
