Very Disappointed
I read a lot of good reviews about the Indigo Inn before I took my wife to Charleston on a surprise birthday visit. Instead of sleeping though, I spent the second night composing a terrible review of the Indigo Inn in my head! All of the rooms in this relatively small inn surround a very pretty courtyard. Unfortunately this setting acts as an incredible sound chamber, where even innocuous, two am conversations on the 3rd floor balcony are bounced around an echo chamber, and are amplified to intolerable levels. If there happens to be a wedding party there during your stay (like there was during ours) well imagine my sleep deprivation. The staff did not seem very concerned about it. The continental breakfast was pretty good but cold. Our room had an empty beer bottle, an Advil tablet, and other assorted goodies on the floor awaiting our arrival. Our experience did not mar an otherwise wonderful trip to Charleston. I've talked to a lot of folks that love it at the Indigo and trust me, I'm not a complainer, but at $179 + $10/night parking + $30/night pet fee, we were expecting much more.
