Courtyard Columbia Downtown at USC, Columbia

Very convenient to the Colonial Center. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Nicest place I have ever stayed...the hotel was a hotel, it's the people that made the difference!!

Having only heard about the previous condition of this hotel, I can tell you now that it's beautiful, spacious, clean, modern and comfortable (beds were outstanding). I especially appreciated the refrigerator in the room and spacious desk area. Staff are all friendly and professional. Internet service in the lobby is very convenient. The food served in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Shuttle to the airport was easily arranged and on time. We return to Columbia in the fall; I look forward to a quiet, smooth riding elevator and the comforts of this hotel. Least favorite part of our stay: the walk uphill to our destination ;).

Front desk staff was friendly and attentive when we arrived. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. We were in Columbia for a South Carolina football game, and the location of this hotel is ideal. We were able to walk to the stadium from the hotel, and the hotel is also very near a bunch of excellent restaurants (those on or near Gervais Street, as well as California Dreaming). We've stayed at this Holiday Inn before and we will definitely stay again.

This past weekend we stayed at the Holiday Inn on Assembly Street in Columbia South Carolina. I have never been so disappointed with a hotel before. My advice would be to tear down this hotel and start from the ground up with a new one. This hotel is run down, dirty, and the rooms are disgusting. In our room there was wallpaper falling down, cigarette burns on the carpet and bedding, a musty smell, and the bathroom floor was slimy. Needless to say, we checked out after one night and moved to the Hampton Inn down the street that was PERFECT. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Me and some of my family were staying at the holidome at 7510 Two Notch Road. But I learned in December 2004 it was no longer a Holiday Inn it was the Carolinan Inn. But in December of 2004 I was on my vacation to Charleston, South Carolina to see my family and we would always go to Columbia or Myrtle Beach to stay at a Holiday Inn. But in December 2004 since the Two Notch Road Holiday Inn was the Carolinan Inn. On Saturday December 18, 2004 me and my sister went up to Columbia, South Carolina to look at some Holiday Inns. We checked out the one at 500 Chris Drive I wasn't that impressed. Then we went to downtown Columbia to the Holiday Inn City Centre at USC at 630 Assembly Street. And it was one of the best Holiday Inns I have ever seen in my life. I get in the hotel lobby the lobby was really awesome with all the neon and decorations. And I said HEY WELL STAY HERE REGARDLESS WHAT THE ROOM LOOKS LIKE. Then me and my sister get up to the room and I really liked the looks of the room we stayed in I said well stay here regardless what the room looks like after seeing the wonderful awesome lobby and then the room is just excellent and it had a bar I liked called the END ZONE. Me and my sister went to a game at the colisuiem across the street. But I mean this was one of the best Holiday Inns I ever stayed at and I liked everything about the hotel. Friendy staff, nice restaurant, clean rooms, wonderful hallways, even though no indoor pool it still is an excellent hotel. The Holiday Inn at 630 Assembley Street in downtown Columbia, South Carolina. Well I said well come here again Christmas vacation of 2005. Me and my sister came back on December 26, 2005 on a Monday night. It was just as excellent as in 2004. Hey what was really neat was going to eat at the pizza hut on the next street and going to dominos pizza for cinnamon breadsticks for desert. I'm leaving you with one of the most best excellent hotels I stayed at in my life. Now there is a complaint I have BY ALL MEANS MY COMPLAINT IS NOT ABOUT THE HOTEL THE DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY INN. The complaint I have is that when I stayed at the hotel last December 2005 I learned that it might no longer be a Holiday Inn be December 2006 when I get a chance to come back to Columbia. I called them up and they said it might be a couryard marriott unless thing fall through they said theres a 95 percent chance it might change to something else. But I want this hotel to remain a Holiday Inn because it is on of the best ones I ever stayed at.

I enjoyed the stay here. The staff was nice, friendly, and helpful. I was there for a church conference and it was held on site. The conference rooms were nice as well as our room. The elevators were extremely slow. The in room internet connect was a plus. I have stayed at more expensive hotels in the past and like what they have to offer but this was a good value. Thanks Holiday Inn.

Filthy: is the word that comes to mind when I think of this hotel. Elevator smelled like puke. The room was disgusting. It smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. There was dirt sitting on top of the carpet, the window did not open, the toilet did not always flush properly, and the list goes on. After staying here one night we checked out early and moved to another hotel. I was not spending another night is this disgusting hotel. Do not stay here.

This was the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. Where do I start? The front counter staff was rude. I had reserved a non smoking room, and was surprised to find out when I got to the hotel that I had been "placed" in a smoking room with the "chance" of being transferred to a non smoking room. The room was filthy. There were cigarette butts on top of the furniture and cigarette burns in the bedspread. The bathroom was filthy. The floor was sticky and there were several hairs in the bathtub, sink and on the floor. NASTY! Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay at this hotel.

I liked that the rooms were clean and the service was prompt. Even though its a 2 star hotel, it is a very good place to go.

My husband and I were very unhappy with this Holiday Inn. I researched it on the internet and took a tour of the hotel via thier website. It claimed to have 2 swimming pools one indoor and one outdoor. Also a fitness center but found out had to travel away from the hotel for it. The game room was nothing like what was pictured on the website. We were very unhappy with everything.
