A huge disappointment!
The room was small; the toilet was dirty (brown spots to be precise, so you can guess what it was); there were no shower cap provided; the hairdryer was filthy and abused. The 2 towels (one bath, one hand) had long hairs stuck to them, so they weren’t usable. There were only 2 differently flavored tea packets, 2 regular coffee packets, 1 decaf coffee packet, 2 sugar/napkin packets and 2 cups. So, If both guests drink tea or coffee with sugar in the evening, you’re out of this stuff in the morning. Also, if you want to drink a certain kind of tea and the other person wants the same tea, you are out of luck. We had to call room service in the morning for sugar and cups. The hotel’s restaurant, The Original Fish Market, was not a pleasant experience either. It was overpriced, as everything else at the hotel, and very far from the fine dining. They were out of chicken on Friday at 6:30pm with the excuse that a lot of people were ordering it. The restaurant was half empty! Fried seafood platter was heavily breaded and over fried (Long John Silver style). The crab cakes were fine, but there wasn’t enough sauce: it was smudged along the plate, probably a tip of a tea spoon in total (why even include it in the dish description?). The service was bad. We even weren’t asked if we’d like to refill our drinks. There was only one fork for all the dinner courses. Also, when we first came in, they said that there’s a 25 min wait to be seated, that they had reservations. The tables never filled up for as long as we’ve been there. Are they trying to make you believe that they are a popular and busy place? We’re glad we stayed only for one night, but that night was ruined for us. We had better rooms with better amenities at a 3 star hotels. You definitely don’t get what you pay for at this hotel.
