Elegance & Convenience
The Latham Hotel, in Center City Philadelphia, was one of the best vacation experiences I've ever had. First of all, check-in was a breeze and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were extremely elegant and somehow homey- real furniture instead of headboards bolted to the wall, etc. There were a great deal of amenities in the room, a coffeemaker and hairdryer; and the TV got plenty of premium channels- not that we needed to watch TV !
Down at the desk they provided us with information on a ton of Philly "must-sees". In addition, they got us passes for the "Phlash", a transit bus that visits not only Philadelphia landmarks, but area hotels. It picked us up at the door and took us on a wonderful tour of the city ! The next night, the hotel once again got us reservations on the Spirit of Philadelphia.
All in all, the service was amazing. Everyone was polite and friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the area. I would have preferred that the restaurant had a little more "family-friendly" prices, but the food was delicious and so worth the expense. I'd reccommend this experience to anyone who really wants to be right in the heart of the city, but not sacrifice the charm and comfort of a smaller inn-style hotel.
