Dont Stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/08
We arrive late around 12am on Friday night. There was a woman and a security guard at the desk. I stood infront of the woman at the desk for two minutes before she looked up and seemend annoyed like I was bothering her. She was unfriendly and rude and the security just stared at us like criminals. After going to our room we discovered 2 small red furry bugs. We continued to unpack because we figured, bugs could come from anywhere. It was 105 outside and the A/C wasnt working. The Fridge didnt work either. I woke up the next morning to discover several more of those tiny red bugs "IN MY BED!!!" When I went down to complain the staff insisted that these bus must have been from a previous guest. They then gave me a small discount and switched rooms. I shouldnt have had to pay anything for this horrible experience and instead am left with several bites on my legs. Do not stay here!!

A few problems
By Julie, 4/18/07
While the location is tremendously convenient (across the street from the Convention Center and the Max line), we had several problems during our stay. One is that the high speed wireless does not work in all areas of the hotel, so we had to go down to the lobby any time we wanted to access the Internet. The desk clerk told me that their system has the ability to make 100 connections, but there are 180 rooms. I could get a great connection in the hall outside my room, but none at all in the room. The other is that the hotel turns off the heat/AC when the temperature is between 55 - 70 degrees, and you have to rely on a small, noisy and hard to operated space heater if for example, the temperature is 57 degress and you would like to be comfortably warm. I awoke every hour all night long as the heater roared away. The staff does a decent job, and the rooms are okay, but overall I wouldn't stay there again.

Average stay
By KarenM, 2/3/06
I thought the hotel was average. There was nothing that stood out in my mind as excellent and nothing really impressed me. There was no real "character" to the hotel, it was average. Accomodations were clean and neat, the staff was polite and helpful. I would stay there again.

Ok hotel
By Dhockey, 8/17/05
The business center, the mini refrigerator were both a plus. There were a few good places to eat that were within walking distance. Fitness room was well equiped. The downside, the room was very noisy due to the traffic, there was no pool, the room never really became cool even with the a/c turned all the way down. Would not stay there again.

What a wonderful hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/05
What a wonderful hotel! So close to everything. We went to Portland to shop and play for the weekend, and couldn't have had a better experience. The food was excellent, and the staff was very friendly, and our room was clean. We would definitely stay at this Red Lion Hotel at the Convention Center again!

Eh
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/05
Although this hotel is convenient to Lloyd Center, their HVAC system clearly doesn't work, and their billing department is a mess. There are so many other nice hotel options in the area that would be far better.

Nothing Special
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/05
This hotel was very average. It is convenient to the MAX and shopping, but offers no airport shuttle, no pool, and not so great views. The excercise room/equipment was nice, but the AC must have been broken because it was HOT in there! Some of the staff were GREAT others were NOT...very hit and miss. My only real compaint was that the non-smoking rooms still smelled like smoke as the hotel is very old.
