The Atherton Hotel At OSU, Stillwater

My daughter and I stayed at the Atherton during a OSU freshman orientation/enrollment session. Since the activities were held in the student union, it was very convenient to stay at this hotel. Our room was on the 4th floor and was very clean, but there was only one, small, narrow shelf in the bathroom. There was a very large, empty space in the bathroom where a table with a make-up mirror or at least small bench could have been placed. (I had to use the lid of the toilet to place my medium sized toiletries bag on). Also there was NO MIRROR in the bedroom area which meant that my daughter and I had to share the bathroom mirror. It was a really cute room and bathroom, but the space could have been utilized much better. Parking charges are not included in the price of the room and hotel guests must pay an additional charge to park in the lot or garage.

Beautiful hotel with great location next to Penn State University! The service was excellent, and very quick, the food in the restaurant is terrific. We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay again.

I've stayed at hotels triple the price that didn't have the amenities that the Atherton had. The sheets were high thread count with fluffy comforters. Though the room was small, it was very tastefully decorated and quite comfortable. Special touches like a fluffy terrycloth robe and a rubber ducky made this a really special place to stay. I had a great view of the campus from my room. A new restaurant had great food. There are also several restaurants within walking distance.

We stayed there in Feb. 2006. I also stayed there 15 years earler and they have made many changes and upgrades since then. The beds are the best I have ever slept on in a hotel. You just melt into them!!!Very clean and friendly and helpful staff. Great picture location in the lobby. We will only stay at the Atherton when visiting Stillwater!
