Motel 6, Lawton

I called about 5:30 PM to check on availability of a room. The clerk (Chrystal) told me no problem they had a non-smoking room on the second floor. She asked for a name and telephone number. She did NOT ask for a credit card number to hold the room. She stated the we had a room. I told her my son would be arriving around 6:30 0r 7 pm. When he got there she told him she had to give the room to someone else because they were filling up and since I didn't give a credit card, she bumped the room. So at 7 pm my son driving an 18 wheeler had to find another place to stay. Very poor practices. If you need a credit card number to guarantee the room, ask for it.

First I will start with the good,James the man that does the maintenance was Great he kept the pool very clean I seen him check it at least 4 times a day ,any problem we had he was on it and very honest about everything.So on to the bad.....Let me begin with my 2 children ,my father and myself went to Lawton OK for my oldest sons graduation from boot camp ,so it was a very special and important time!The bad ...the area is just off highway very dirty nothing special.Thank god for the pool!!!!! ON TO THE UGLY............BED BUGS,I woke up after the first morning with bites up both my arms and legs some on my neck and back,I went to the office ,they were real nice about it and switched our room,however claimed they did not know what it was. I was itchy ,upset and uncomfortable .so we moved rooms and thought all would be well woke up the next morning (bought sweatpants and t-shirt to sleep in so body wasn't exposed ) woke up next morning and my face and neck were covered!!!went back to the office and they gave us 1/2 our money back. But I do not feel they are going to fix this problem if so they would have started before i left!!!!!!!WOULD NEVER STAY AGAIN to bad to because the people were very friendly ,but that is not enough CLEANLINESS is pretty high on my list. SO PEOPLE BE WARNED ON STAYING HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my husband stayed there for work, and when he come in one evening he had found that his cell phone was stolen from his bag. of course no one there cared and took their cleaning lady's word that she never seen one. of course she did not she only looked for one. in my book if a place has thieves and liars it is not a place to stay. so if you stay there make sure you have everything with you when you leave so nothing is stolen from you.

I checked in early and was told I would have a ground floor, no problem. I returned later and was told I now had a second floor room! They had told me one thing and then changed it later and basically told me it was too bad. They saw no reason for my unhappiness and they did not care. I will not stay at this Motel 6 again and I come to this town each year for the same event.

We stayed for 2 nights for family reunion in nearby Cache. The floor was extremely dirty. It made our socks and feet BLACK. They didn't give enough towels the 1st night, and did not give new ones when the dirty ones were taken. Had to go to front desk for towels. The hot water ran out mid shower both days and the shower head was too strong. The toilet seat was loose. The location is questionable at best. It is by truck stop and a storage facility. Will not go back.

We stayed 4 nights as we were visiting our son for his graduation from boot camp. We were told that we were getting a renovated room. Well, when we checked in we found that the smoke detector was hanging from the wall. The lights in the room were faulty...one worked the other did not. There was just a few sheets of toilet paper in the bathroom. I asked for an iron and was told that they had one iron that someone had taken and not given back. If they found it, they would call. They didn't call. First shower....cold water only...no hot water. Hot water after the first day was almost scalding even when faucet turned to cold water. We asked for toilet paper and towels and were told to wait until housekeeping made it to our room. They were making the rounds. Signs on the door warn to lock all three locks on door when in room. Not too comforting. Soda machines did not work. However, I'm not a light-weight. I can handle this and don't complain because the people seemed nice overall. The last two nights, there is a party going on in the room next door. Loud carrying on until late at night. Still we don't complain. Last night there, party gets out of hand. Fight starts in parking lot. Police are called. Mirror on someone's car is broken. Police do nothing. Hotel management tells people to calm it down. Calm it down??? Now we complain. We expect to be comped for the night as it is now after midnight and we have yet to be able to sleep. Management says no to comping the room. They suggest that maybe WE should move! Nice, huh? Like I said, I'm not a light-weight, but, come on! I don't think we would stay there again. This is a glorified truck stop and the management needs to improve their customer service skills.

We stayed for one night, very clean, very friendly service, quiet and the shower in our room had awesome water pressure! very much recommend! if we ever HAVE to travel to lawton again we will def stay here!

The motel was very clean and the staff was very curtious. Location was good, and the rooms were very spacious. We have never seen a motel room with hardwood floors before.

Stayed here two nights in December '07. Gave us a handicapped accessible room for some reason, but there were plenty of empty rooms we were told. Didn't know it was handicapped accessible till we got in the room. There was no place to put your toiletries in the bathroom....no countertop whatsoever. Had to place blowdrier, curling iron, brushes, etc. on the floor or on the back of the toilet. And since the toilet had no seat lid, watch out or your stuff will fall in! Our main complaint was dark, extremely long hair (that could not possibly have belonged to us) that apparently came off of the towels. Major gross-out. Also, I had to clean hair out of the tub before we could use it. We already take our own sheets and blankets when we stay in a motel and from now on will take our own towels and washrags. The price was right but the hair has got to go.

AS A GREAT VALUE FOR THE MONEY! THANKS..... We plan to be there again on the 22 0f November for a couple night stay........
