It's a DUMP
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/08
The Lodge is closed and it looks like it should be torn down. The whole park is a dump from top to bottom. The golf course is an overgrown field, the swimming area is a muddy bank, the Catfish Bay marina has an open air bar that blares live music until 2AM. STAY AWAY. Go to one of the Corp Campgrounds or drive 20 minutes to Lake Murray.

THE PERSON OR PERSONS THAT WOULD EVEN ENTERTAIN SUCH AN IDEA IS MISSING WAY TOO MANY MARBLES.THIS IS A GREAT PLACE AND WITH VERY LITTLE WORK WOULD BE A GOLD MINE.WE STAYED AT LODGE ON 08/18/06. Creepy cabin
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/06
We chose the cabins rather than the lodge, thinking "you get what you pay for". Our first problem was the check-in. The reservation says check in is at 3:00pm, however they mean check in STARTS at 3:00pm. We finally were awarded a key at 5:30pm. At the cabins there are absolutely NO cleaning supplies (dish towels/soap/broom) nor a single pot, pan, dish or utensil. Every cabin I've stayed at before at least had a few things. Our refrigerator wasn't working when we got there, but with a little rigging of the plug we got it working. On the second day our trash was full so we took out the trash in the one extremely thin liner provided. We replaced it with a heavy trash bag from home and went out for the day. When we got back the empty bag was taken, and was replaced back with a flimsy bag. This was the only housekeeping item done. Our empty paper towel dispenser was ignored, as well as our wet towels. The pool at the lodge does not have a hot tub and is in need of an update. I saw one small roach in our cabin and the biggest roach I've ever seen in my life at the lodge. The park itself is nice, and we enjoyed the boat slip we rented and the marina store. There is a grocery right in the park that was convenient. We will be returning to this lake, but will not stay in the lodge or cabins ever again.

So disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/06
If you are AT ALL concerned about cleanliness, this is not the place for you! We had a family reunion there, and many of us had to go to the nearest Wal-Mart for sheets and towels. The rooms are dirty, the furnishings very old and worn and infested with bugs of all kinds. This place is called a resort, but only because it has resorted to the worst of conditions. The facilities and fixtures have been maintained at what seems like the barest of standards. It is so disappointing because the location of the resort is great and there is so much potential. We still had a great time at our reunion, but we limited the time we had to spend in our "cabins." I'm an Oklahoman and I'm embarrassed at the state's poor stewardship of the facilities. Lake Texoma is beautiful ... but stay on the Texas side!

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/05
This "lodge" is a total disgrace. In our room the ceiling was falling down, carpet was filthy and there was mold growing in the shower. We would rather tent camp than spend another night in the "lodge".

Charged things to my credit card
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/04
After staying and then checking out (5 days later), of the motel "lodge" I discovered an additional 165 dollar charged to my credit card. When I called with my concern, they're accounting department felt "bothered" by checking out my request. I still have not been refunded my money.
