Econo Lodge, Dayton

This hotel had just changed owners when we stayed and they were starting to renovate immediately. The manager was incredibly friendly and there was certainly a change in the air. There were already trucks there fixing the pool and I talked with the manager and he said they were completely renovating the hotel to the tune of about a million dollars! I expect a complete turnaround for this hotel.

This hotel was a decent value for the rates. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. The desk clerk was even friendly enough to print directions for me to a local attraction I wanted to check out. I too must disagree with many of the reviews listed here. I did not notice any holes in the walls. While it was not the best hotel in Dayton, it wasn't a dump. The location is excellent: it is located close to the downtown area and major interstates. The hotel is a little old; nonetheless, this hotel was a good value.

This place is a DUMP! Holes in the walls, cracked and missing tiles. The rooms smell. The inside of the sink is painted to hide the chips and stains. The night clerk was R-U-D-E! Complained to corporate "Choice Hotels" Reviewed letter from manager like nothing was wrong. Don't stay here, go somewhere better!

The service was horrible, the place was disgustingly dirty and needed maintenance badly. It was the worst experience you can ask for. Truthfully a dump. Service? What service? There was none, period.
