So grossed out!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/11
I needed a hotel room while training at the local police academy and picked this place off the net. First, the place looked dark and scary when I first arrived but the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The woman at the desk gave me an upgrade to a suite because the hotel is empty. I took a quick tour of the building and noticed that there would be a lot of things to do with children (big toy, pool, games, ping-pong, etc.). Nonetheless, I spent the rest of the night grossed out by the dust covered fixtures, the filthy un-swept carpet, hair in the bathroom, the stained sheets and pillow cases (Lord, I hope they were stains and NOT just dirty), and the beat up furniture/walls. Anyone else would have left; however, I was just too exhausted to try to find a new hotel this late at night. In addition, the people who run the hotel van sat outside and talked until midnight. The highlight was washing my face in the morning and noticing a piece of dental floss on my towel. The problem was that I didn't pack dental floss!!

It doesn't even rate in my book.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/10
If this is the place right off exit 173 off off I 80 in Ohio-Yuck!!!! When it comes to a place to rest my weary head, I am mostly concerned about the room being clean-forget all of the bells and wistles. At this particular business, the first thing to greet you as you open the door to room # 410 is the worst smell! Stale smoke??!! But the unphased staff insisted it was a non-smoking room. So then what the heck is the source of the stench?!! Then the dirty lamp shades. The disgusting bathroom-stained walls, dirty toilet-black ring -almost looked like ash from cigarette??? Whatever it is scrub it out!!!!! Stained and broken up caulk. I know they don't press their sheets as the attendant responded to my husbands comments of wrinkled sheets. I don't expect pressed but at least put sheets on that do not look like they have been slept on!!!! I would have left but my family was very tired when we arrived and had already settled in before I could say no. I went around cleaning and spraying with disinfectant-I I guess for $ 75 you have to do that yourself? I was livid!!! Disgusted and unrested when I left in the morning. I had to get my own blanket, ask the staff for clean sheets and then take a xanax so that I could fall asleep. What really bothered me was the staff who seemed to be unphased by the customers lack of satisfaction. I will never stay at a Days Inn again-That one in particular-whatever the name they will be changing it to. I learned that I will be the one checking us in and inspecting any room that I will sleep in before I make the payment. Thanks for the education Days Inn. I guess they are making renovations? Why not inform the customers ahead of time and then give them a substandard price for a sub standard room.

Warning: This hotel -- it should be torn down
By Sunshine, 4/13/10
This hotel used to be nice, however, as management changed so did the service. This Hotel should be torn down for the following reasons: Old, stained carpet, poorly working showers, stained bath tubs, old outlets, nothing for children to do -- all arcade games have been taken out. Nonworking water fountains, overprice restaurant -- food was horrible; overworked staff. This hotel needs to be reported for unstableness and unsatisfactory conditions for customer stay.

It is a dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/28/09
This hotel is just being squeezed for any money they can get out of it without putting a penny into it. The parking lot needs resurfacing. The interior is very dated and old. Carpet needs replacing, walls need painting, beds need new mattresses, the bathrooms need to be gutted and remodeled as everthing in them is stained, rusted or covered in lime scale. The beds had these very small pillows, about a thirds of the size of standard pillows. It is a balancing act to keep your head on the pillow when sleeping. At 6:30 in the morning, one of the house keeping staff was running the vacuum cleaner in the hall or a nearby room, waking my wife and daughter. All in all, it was just a run down, dirty dump. I would not spend my money there again.

This could have been such a great place!
By JenniferN, 5/13/08
This was a very nice hotel with tons of things for families with children, but the hotel was not able to control all of the kids in the atrium. There were no parents to be found and the kids had taken over everything including the 16 and over hot tub. It was very dangerous with footballs flying and hitting people and windows, and little girls treating the open areas as if they were gymnastics arenas. Someone is going to get hurt. Everyone was supposed to wear a wristband to be in the pool and atrium area, but it was never enforced so people with rooms had tons of people coming and going. The people without wristbands far outnumbered the people with. It is sad to think that I paid for a room for the weekend and they got to come and enjoy the place for free. Next time maybe I'll just come up an spend the afternoon swimming without getting a room. It seemed like the thing to do. The staff an security also had no control when a fight broke out after quiet hours. They yelled at me and treated me like I was a child and I wasn't even involved in the situation. This place could really use a new plan to keep things under control.

great family weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/08
we have been going to this hotel each year for our family reunion since 1978. This year was one of the best. Friendly staff, great food at the right price, and the hotel was constantly being cleaned. We went on a very snowy weekend and the management was very accommodating to all. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this hotel for a great family getaway.

Don't Stay Here!
My husband stayed there for a business trip. He said it wasn't clean, the staff was rude and unhelpful and they had an attitude of disservice. And everytime I called the hotel to get him on the hotel phone, it said all lines were busy. I was never able to get through and had to reach him on his cellphone everytime. This was a coporate reservation and my husband and his colleagues said they would make sure and let HR know not to book there ever again.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/08
Had to goto the front desk 4 times to get a key that would let you enter the room. Turned on shower and the shower head was broke spraying water all over everything in bathroom. 1rst room they gave us the paint and wall paper were peeling off the walls. Second room smelled like smoke (non-smoking room. to top it off the maid walked right into our room at 8oclock in the morning without even knocking. Mngt. offered 20.00 off our bill at checkout but they were advised to keep it and put it twoards repairs!!!!!!!!

Very Unpleasant experience
By Shananigan, 3/9/07
We had stayed at this facility in 2006 and received REALLY bad service and the owner gave our group a discount to come back for our troubles. Upon arriving at this hotel for our return trip I waited SEVERAL minutes before finally having to ASK one of the 4 people behind the desk that were doing nothing to wait on me. When trying to check in and being asked how many were in our room, the manager there said that we had 1 too many people. Understandable. Our family was part of a group of 11 rooms that were staying with them and stated that one of my children would stay with another member in our group, that we were never told for this visit or last that there was a limit to the number in our rooms, that last time it was not an issue, and he needed to do what he needed to do. Upon saying that he stated he did not like my attitude and kicked my entire family out of the hotel. There was no yelling, threatening or profanity used...no reason whatsoever to remove us from the premises. After arriving home I called the owner and left several messages, he never returned my call. I then called the corp. office and the Better Business Bureau. The other members of our group that did stay the night said the facility was filthy and not well kept at all. I would NOT recommend this hotel!!!!!!

Won't be fooled again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/06
Overall attitude of staff was not good. They attempted to place us in a room which had just been flooded, asserting that the carpet had been cleaned and disinfected -- but it was still too damp to be rented. We were relocated after two requests to a room which had paint peeling from the ceiling above the bathtub. Beyond that, we had to call and request clean towels and no member of the housekeeping staff visited our room for the entire second day of our stay, forcing is to sya in an un-made bed. When I attempted to voice concerns at the front desp upon check-out, the response was an abrupt "we'll make a note of it" before I could get en entire sentence out. I sent an e-mail to the Choice Hotel Web site and received a call a few days later from a member of the hotel management staff. We discussed a discount and he said he would have to "speak with his general manager" and get back to me. That was three weeks ago, and no further contact. Poor attitude, from top to bottom.
