Amazing Restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/09
What a gem of a hotel. I never knew it was in Akron until a coworker recommended it. Beautiful marble lobby, friendly staff, great room and an amazing restaurant -Beau's Grille. Fine dining at a descent price- great menu options, the sea bass was to die for and fresh. If you can't stay overnight- definitely try the restaurant. The hotel overall was wonderful.

Very Clean
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/09
The hotel was very clean. The beds were comfortable, but on the small side (double). The flat screen TV and free wireless were appreciated. Ice machine not working on 3rd floor. Indoor pool and hot tub were clean. Outdoor pool not open and outdoor grill still under construction. I overheard the front desk quote a cheaper rate over the phone than what I was paying, so that did not sit well with me. Other than that, the staff is friendly, the hotel is very clean and the location is great.

I am a regular and highly recommend this hotel for their great staff, service and fantastic restaurant. The new beds are so comfortable. I enjoyed the new large flat screen TV and fitness center. Thanks.

Looking for a nice hotel? Keep looking!
By Brett, 6/22/07
I've stayed at the Fairlawn Hilton several times during business travel. Each experience has been poor. I won't be going back since I’ve threatened to fire my assistant if she puts me there again! The overall cleanliness of the rooms is terrible. It's been a long time since any of the bathrooms had a good scrubbing. There is almost always hair on the bathroom floor, in the shower, on the counters, in the sink, etc. The desk is usually filthy. Sometimes the trash cans smell pretty bad. The marble floors in the entry way and bathroom are filthy. There is a build up of dust and hair in most of the corners and the base of the walls. The last time I checked in, I was treated to a dirty washcloth sitting in the corner by the bed. I shudder to think what that was used for. I didn’t touch it. Also, the walls are paper thin. During my last stay, I was treated to the sounds of an elderly couple having sex in the next room. The walls are so thin I could hear their "excited breathing" along with host of other "excited sounds." Actually, that sums up the clientele of Fairlawn Hilton pretty well: Old and horny. Once you stay there, you'll see what I mean. The bar is full of late 40's folks and older looking to "hook-up." Puke. It’s funny that one of the other reviewers mentioned “stains.” That reviewer is correct, stains are all over the rooms: chairs, benches, foot stool, etc. The internet connection is very unreliable. It didn’t work at all during one of my 3 day stays. The restaurant isn’t bad, but it is not that great. The food is overpriced for the quality. The steak is on par with the better cuts at national chain restaurants. I could go on, but I don’t see the point. I’ll summarize: You could probably stay at the Super 8 and get a cleaner room!

Scary Stains
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/04
The staff was happy to assist in changing my room when I had come back to request for a room away from the elevators. The room was a bit better but I'm a bit concerned about the big stains on the bench and the chair (if you know what I mean). The hotel is old and smells of it but they've done as best as they can to make it not look dated. The look is modern. The baths are marble tile and decorated nicely. Bring your own ethernet cable otherwise you'll have to check out one downstairs from the front desk. Free if returned, $5 if not. If it wasn't for the suspicious stains *shiver*, I probably wouldve given 4 stars.
