Unbelievable
By ,
I called this hotel asking about Birthday parties. I was informed by the front desk that Birthday parties are not allowed on Friday or Saturdays and that ONLY registered hotel guests are allowed to swim in the pool. So If you rent a room at ths hotel do not plan on having friends or relatives over to swim with you. What a joke!

Very nice... if you don't mind trains
By ,
The HDTV was great, the bar in the hotel was decent. The Ground Round (which is attatched) was nice. The pool area was nice, the huttub was very nice. The rooms were clean and spacious, the service was excellent. The rooms we stayed in had no fridges. Upon asking about them the desk attendant brought several buckets of ice to the room without us asking and told us that they would have a fridge brought to our room.. and they did! They did not offer a breakfast, but the small cafe in the hotel had good food that was reasonable priced. The internet acces was fast and were it not for the constant trains all night long this would have been the best hotel I visited while in Minot. The price wasn't bad either!

One of the nicer hotels I stay at.
By ,
I come here about once a month and stay for 2 or 3 days. I travel with the railroad and they have always tried to do there best to put me up for the night. The rooms are big and plenty of room. The internet is fast and luckily it’s always been up and running. The Ground Round is great for ice cold beer and awesome food. The mixed drinks are very weak but other than that great place to hangout. Where I usually meet some buddies while I’m in town. On weekends yes it does get a little noisy but they do have quiet times posted. I’ve never had any big problems by any means. In my personal experience the people that complain about the service or staff is usually because of there attitude. I’ve seen some rude people at the check inn desks. It’s kind of like being mean to some one who serves you food. You just don’t mess with them. Everyone that's ever checked me in has always been nice and more then willing to help out. I have no complaints about this hotel except one. When some big event is in town this place is always booked. So make sure to call ahead. But that’s my only complaint.

Never had dried out prime rib before
By ,
We attended a renaissance feast at the Holiday Inn Riverside Dec. 2009. While allowing that it can be difficult to serve a sit down dinner to a large group, still, I have to note that the prime rib was cooked uniformly well done (ick) and it was also dried out. Broccoli was cold, baked potato, OK. The Holiday Inn is not responsible for the entertainment which we found to be minimally entertaining, but the Society for Creative Anachronism is probably not responsible for the disappointing food. We won't be attending another Renaissance Feast and I'm not sure if we want to eat at the Holiday Inn again if this experience was an indication of their general dining enjoyment. I can't recommend the event or the food. The hall used for the event was also quite chilly. The entire event was a poor value for what it cost and was overly long.

Priority Club Member--- worst holiday inn ever
By ,
Front desk doesn't care about noise, or doesn't care about trying to stop noise. People yelling and screaming in the lobby / bar until late night / early morning (open center hotel) the sad part is the bar is right in front of the front desk and they say nothing to stop the noise. You especially don't want to stay through the weekend you have kids running and screaming up and down the aisles due to the pool being there, and of course the hotel staff does nothing to stop it,or prevent the noise. It's sick how little the hotel staff cares about the actual guests. I reccomend staying at the Holiday Inn Express especially if you want to continue to collect your priority club points, if you could avoid this hotel, please do. I am a priority club member with an average of 150+ hotel night stays throughout a year. I have never written a review on a hotel, but this hotel is ridiculous. Just sick

Best Motel In Minot!!!
By ,
We got a poolside, smoking room and was traveling with 2 dogs & 4 kids. They made sure we got a room with a door next to it leading outside for the dogs into a small secluded quiet yard this was a very big bonus to me! I was surpirsed when I opened the door to our room...it did not smell bad like smoking rooms can. The pool was great and much warmer than the Sleep Inns, but again, I thought the chlorine level was a bit high. Our kids age 7,5,4,2, all loved their miniature water park. Perfect for the younger kids. The service was great. I was kinda disappointed to not have a fridge in the room. I had to fly the 2 dogs out early the next morning and needed water froze in their dish BUT the gal at the front desk gladly placed it in a freezer for me and had it delivered it our room at the appropriate time. The service here was great as alway. I have stayed here many times and ALWAYS had wonderful, friendly service. Our room was quiet but I will say beings it was next to the pool it was warm. The beds were VERY cozy and they even had feather pillows upon request. I have never slept so well in a motel. I would definately recommend this place and I will stay here again.

Great Location and Quiet
By ,
Hey! If you are looking for location and beauty this is the place tp be. Near the Zoo and the fair grounds and a good place to go for long walks without all the rush of the Mall. I will come back here in a flash. In fact I was just there for the fireworks on July 4th and the room was cheaper then quoted and the staff were great. It is worth your time to check this place out. Also very good resturants in and adjoining the building. Happy :)

Less than enchanted
By ,
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Riverside for a wedding. Many out of town guests booked there--rates were inconsistent with what was quoted at the time of the booking. No adjustments were made and the supervisor was rude. Maid service left our hotel door ajar! When I reported this to the front desk--they were like, oh, sorry! The place was a pig pen--overflowing garbage cans, dirty carpet and definitely understaffed!! The only plus was a good restaurant (The Ground Round) connecting. Won't stay here again!!!!

Great location for the fair. Staff very friendly and accomodating!! Parking could use a bit more room. Definitely would stay again. Water park has been upgraded and great for young children.

We were fooled into staying here.
By ,
Visited Minot for an event at the MSU Dome. Why on Earth did my wife book us into this place way out in the sticks? Even the Dakota Inn by the Mall would've been a better location let alone the Int'l Inn or the Vegas Motel. Not impressed. This place is a dinosaur.
