Pet Friendly Hotel!
By Donna, 2/21/12
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel for many reasons. It is located directly on the beach and has plenty of outdoor deck seating where you can look out at the ocean. I also brought my dog with me and they gave us a great room on the first floor with easy access for 'pottie breaks' and to quickly get to the beach. Although the weather was cold, we still took great long walks on the beach and then afterwards warmed up in the indoor pool and jacuzzi. I highly recommend staying here as the staff was great and the atmosphere was VERY relaxing.

Excellent! Loved our stay here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/11
The hotel is very clean. Staff works around the clock cleaning and caring for the property. Oceanview room was awesome. Brought my 13yr old daughter & her friend. Was able to give them some freedom because of all the different hang out spots at the hotel. Several levels of decking, swings, picnic tables by swings, seating throughout the hotel. Very nice. They loved it. Very safe environment. Hotel has complimentary washer & dryer & they also supply liquid detergent. Even though they provide towels by the pool, we brought our own towels for the beach. Nice to be able to throw in the washer. Pool was clean but would get cloudy due to guests jumping in without using the outdoor shower & foot sprayer to clean off the sand from the beach. The fridge in the room worked great & was large enough to hold everything I needed. Milk, 3 bottles of soda, almost a whole case of bottled water and breakfast & lunch foods. There is a cabinet over the microwave for other foods as well. This is a pet friendly hotel which I was a little worried about, however they stay on the first floor and to my surprise the grounds were very clean. No sign of doggie droppings anywhere not even on the beach. You can rent beach chairs & umbrellas from the hotel. We brought our own chairs but rented the umbrella every day for $8.00. They even set it in the sand for you and come back for it when you are done. I would recommend getting one. The sand gets very very hot. There is a pizza place right across the street called American Pie, it was good and they also make homemade ice cream-very good too. The restaurant at the hotel makes great breakfast, good burgers & sandwiches. My husband thought the dinner portions were a bit small for the price. Awful Arthurs & The Western Sizzlin were good places to eat. The sun rises between 530 & 6 am. We watched it every morning. Beautiful. The sun sets on the bayside so you can not see that from this hotel. Bring binoculars if you have them. Dolphins swim up & down the shore line every day.Fun to watch. Hope this is helpful to you. I was very happy here and already planning to go back next summer.

Very Nice and convenient!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/20/11
My Family and I stayed the weekend(2 night and 3 days). It was really a nice place besides the neighbors wanted to complain about any and everything. It was fun! Just wasn't long enough! We ordered pizza twice while we were there from Pizzazz Pizza or however you spell it but it was very, very good! Great shopping! Just 2 much 2 look at! Thanks for such a great stay!!

NASTY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/08
The room was NASTY. Carpet was very dirty, bedspread smelled of urine, bugs in the cabinet, not worth $100+ nightly rate. Will NEVER stay there again!!

Expensive for What Little It Ofers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/1/08
My kids loved Sabrina, the bird and that's about all I loved as well. The first night we were there, the AC in our room wasn't working and we were told it would cool off over night since it was so hot outside. Well guess what?? It NEVER did. I complained the next morning and was promised a maintenance worker would check it. I took my kids to the beach, came back and the room was still HOT. After complaining again, another maintenance worker came and had to replace the entire unit in our room. We weren't offered any type of discount for out trouble. As far as the room, it was clean, but it could sure use some updating. The bathroom was clean, but I have to say the pool was DIRTY and did not allow my kids to play in it.

not worth the cost
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/3/08
We just returned from our 3 night stay at the ramada.Loved the location and the kids loved Sabrina(bird). But that is about it.The hotel was one of the most expensive in the area then you arrive and wonder what are you paying for.The hotel could of used some renovations.Although the linens appeared fairly new. There was no cleaning service the housekeeping staff never showed up one whole day at all and then the next day it took all day before they finally showed up an had to return with towels later in the evening. There seemed to be no strong management involvement with housekeeping staff. Because you could see them just walking around, talking and not really doing anything and when asked to clean your room they said we will get there as soon as we can.Not a deluxe hotel at all.

Great ocean views!
By rooster68, 6/17/08
We stayed here for 5 days in May of 2008. We had a great room on the 5th floor with a view and a balcony overlooking the ocean. The room was clean, and it was cleaned and the bed made every day we were there. On the first night there was no stopped for the bath, but the maintenance person was sent right up and he installed a new one. We had no problems with the room after that. The pool was nice and clean, and we made good use of the pool in the evenings. I used the business center and it was adequate to check email and look up a few things online. It consisted of one computer, though, so if there was someone else using it, I had to wait. The restaurant/bar had events, one night there was karaoke, but we did not attend. We did look in and it looked like people were having fun. We were there with our 1 year old and the room was big enough for us to set up her pack and play we used for her bed. The TV was a flat screen and there was a good assortment of channels to choose from, along with video games. We ordered room service twice, once the night we arrived and again, breakfast on Mother's Day. Both times the food was excellent, and we very much enjoyed our meals. I would highly recommend the room service from Peppercorn's. The hotel was located about midway and we took convenient day trips to Corolla and to Cape Hatteras. Although it was a little pricey, though we knew that when we made our reservations, it was worth every dollar.

Ramada stay in January 07
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/07
My only issue as that the shower had no water presure and no hot water. The room was okay, we have stayed in better. The pool was also down for repairs during our stay. Other than that the location was great!! We would not recommend eating at their resturant Peppercorn. We waited almost a hour with no one coming over to get us drinks or anything. I will go there again.

What a view
By Cyndee, 4/27/05
The weekend we went it was extreemly windy, and a bit chilly, the hotel didn't have our reservation, but upgraded us to a better room for the mistake, and then that night the power was off so they again attempted to help us with glow sticks. I will come back in the fall after things die back down after the summer crowd.
