Days Inn Shelby, Shelby

I highly recommend this if you are going to Shelby. The staff is very friendly. The only issue I had is that housekeeping does not speak english. Which kind of made it hard for them to be friendly. The rest of the staff is incredible. Friendly and helpful and always willing to do whatever they can to make your stay a good one. The beds and pillows are comfy. Rooms are decorated tastefully. The carpets are a bit worn but are clean, not sticky like many moderately priced places. The water pressure is OK, could be better but definately not a major issue. The pool is very clean and there are lots of umbrella tables with chairs and lounges. Never a seating problem. Nice landscaping too. Breakfast is great! Waffles, cereal, doughnuts, oatmeal, toast,fresh fruit, juice, coffee and tea. We were there for 4 nights and did have an issue the first night with the people in the room nextdoor. They were in and out of the room all night and allowed their 2 year old to constantly knock on my window. Not a good thing since we needed to get up at 5"30 AM! The next morning I told the desk clerk about it. Obviously I was not the only one to complain because the management went to their room and made them leave! We slept well for the rest of our stay. This is a motel that I recommend to everyone that goes to Shelby. It is really a great room plus for the price.

You can see some effort to update the place, but still somewhat dated. I did not feel comfortable with the cleanliness level. There was hair and various debris behind the bathroom door, and between the bed and nightstand there were small pieces of trash, candy wrappers, etc. I will say that the mattresses were awesome! You can tell that the boxsprings weren't changed out, but it didn't effect the good night's sleep. Take your own pillow, though, and a spray bottle of disinfectant.

Good Service and Excellent Location. I really love the Mountain View from my Room.
