Econo Lodge Inn and Suites East, Matthews

This hotel is typical of non american owned/operated hotels. People must realize that when people come from another country, what we consider a substandard hotel, is luxury to them. They do not understand that americans require a clean place to bathe and sleep. This hotel is fine for a quick stay to catch some sleep before moving on down the road but not the kind of place you would want to bring a date or family. I stayed here for work, live and learn but the rates were cheap enough for me to go out and have a nice dinner! Just dont take a bath n the tub, stick with a shower! I bring my own towels when I travel, I suggest everyone do that, there were little black hairs in my towels so i wouldnt recommend using theirs! By the way, look at the wording of the good reviews for the hotel and it is obvious that someone here on the staff typed that broken english! lol

The taco bell drive thru was righ behind our room. We wore our sandals the entire time, the room smelled! The breakfast was a JOKE! Little debbies and enough juice for a bathroom dixie cup!

They have a 72 hr cancellation policy for one reason only, THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WOULD PAY FOR A STAY HERE. Our room had a musky underarm odor that ate up a bottle up Fabreze. Mold gowing on the dresser handles. No sofa was in the King room as depicted in the photo. They had no extra blakets, pillows or towels available. The bathroom was very small. Several rooms had damaged door jambs. We stayed the first night, gave up our money for the second night. It was money well spent. At $90 a night, with a discount...run, run, run!!

I didn't like anything about it, and would not recommend it to anyone. It was not worth the time or money. I would have stayed at another hotel and paid more money than have to stay in this filthy place. When the children walked on the floor in their pj's the feet of their pj's were black from the dirt in the carpet. In room 122, you had no privacy as you could not close the bathroom door because the toilet seat prevented the door from closing. You had to go to the front desk and get your towels because they did not have them in the room. My neice was told that the towels were in the wash, and they had to bring them later. They did not provide maid service in the rooms and we were told that someone informed them that we didn't need service which was a big lie. The website is extremely deceiving, and the lodge is nothing like it shows. My husband went down for the continental breakfast before 9:00 a.m., and he was told they had just put away the food. The place had not been dusted in months, and it made my mother's allergies flare up. We reserved seven rooms, and none of them were clean and up to par. They showed a 90 rating in the window, however, I don't see how that was possible. My husband and I requested that our carpet be vqcummed and leave clean towels and wash cloths, however, this was not done until after 3:00 p.m. We were in town for a wedding, however, our lodging made this otherwise joyous occasion a complete disaster.

very clean hotel. staff was excellent i recommend this place for everyone. i like room very much quiet place.service is up to the mark. will'be back soon

very clean, new carpet, very friendly atmosphere, one of the best place. very resonable price for very good hotel. service was wonderful. front desk is one of the best.
