First stay in the OBX.
By ,
We had never been to the Outer Banks so was unsure what to expect. I loved this hotel. We had to make our stay short, was a stop on our way home. But the short time we spent in the Best Western was great. Room lay out was one of the best I have ever stayed in. Plenty of closet space. Loved the separate shower and sink area. Cute little kitchen and there is plenty of closet space. Our room could have slept 7 comfortably. And to my surprise the room didn't smell musty and was very clean for it's age. Staff was great. Breakfast was fantastic, lots to choose from, only my kids wish there would have been pancakes or waffels. I guess that is my only complaint. We cannot wait to return.

We love it
By ,
My wife, my four kids, and I loved the place. We were there last week and we stayed in room 306, which has beautiful Ocean view. The suite has very nice and clean rooms. Nice kitchen equipped with kitchen ware, knife, and dining set oven stove and everything else that you need to cook, which saved me a lot money on food. Nice swing pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. The best of all is the excellent customer service. They have a very friendly stuff with nice smile on their faces. In our last day there, and after we checked out, my kids still wanted to go to the beach. After we came back from the ocean, The receptionist provided us with place to shower at the 4th floor in the gym. They made sure that we got fresh towels for the entire family. I certainly go back and highly recommend them.

Nice Place
By ,
We did enjoy our stay during a very cold weekend in January. Why go the beach during January? We felt a need to see the ocean after moving away from it a few years ago. So we got there and it was really cold, even worse than normal. But we still enjoyed the stay and the staff was part of it. Let me explain. We picked up "guidebooks" along the way to the area. They offered great things but failed to mention how many places, especially restaurants, close for the winter. My wife asked the front desk about restaurants and they referred us to Mako Mikes. The desk said they had an aquarium that was a hit for kids. We had seen a place in a guidebook offering a buffet, which we would have preferred. So we drove to the buffet. Only problem it was closed for the off-season. So we relied on the staff and went to Mako Mikes. My two kids spent all of their time when not eating watching the shark tank, and have done nothing else but talk about it since we got home. So the front desk person was on target with the recommendation. By the way, the adult food served at Mako Mikes was 5 star, although we did spend more money than most would do for a meal, but remember it was cold and not much else to do, so we splurged on food somewhat. There were cheaper alternatives on the menu, we just wanted to remember the visit by a gourmet meal. During winter, the golf courses and kids go kart places close. We didn't locate any indoor minature golf if there is one in the area. There were movie theatres but we didn't travel that far to see a movie. But the ocean view we had was spectacular, and well worth the price we paid for it. If there was one suggestion I would make, it would be to put a King bed in the master bedroom, and allow the pull down bed which is a full bed in the living room to remain. Currently, there are two full beds, not queens, in the master bedroom, and my skinny 6 year old and me barely fit in the bed. Needless to say, my boy pushed me out of bed in the middle of the night, and my suffering was to pull the full bed down and wake up to the sunrise view of the Atlantic Ocean. I did also want to note that the continental breakfast room here was worth the visit. It wasn't just a box of dunkin donuts and a coffee pot. You had toast, a variety of accompaniments, coff, oj, and several other options that you would have to be there to see. Well worth seeing. Overall, a great place to stay.

Great Place!
By ,
My husband and I have stayed here twice, the last time we brought my mother, who had never been to the ocean at 63 years old. She loved it so much she already has her bags packed for the next trip! The ocean view is spectacular and it is so nice to have a kitchen if you don't want to venture out. I have recommended this place to everyone that I know.

Perfect for Outer Banks!!
By ,
My family and I stayed a week in April 2007 and the hotel was great! Staff is great, hotel clean, prices comfortable, tv with lots of channels available, an ocean view, a private balcony, and right on the beach for every suite. The rooms are huge for a small price, parking is great, near stores and restaurants, swimming pool (though not open yet the first week of April) and hot tub. Everything a traveler from Michigan would want that far away from home and more. I would highly recommend this hotel!!

Great Place!
By ,
This was one great hotel! The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Willing to answer dump questions and give directions, and they know the area well. The rooms were huge! It wasn't really a room, it was more like a small apartment. Great place to stay with kids or other guests. Everything you need was right there. Parking was accessable from every room. And the beach was literally right out the back door. Only thing I didn't like was that after my first night there no one cleaned the room. I was out of the room all day and when I came back no one had been there to clean. The shower wasn't in great condition and it was tough getting the shampoo out of my hair with the poor shower head. Otherwise, I would highly reccomend this hotel!

I stayed there in the fall of 2002. The suite was nice. Very roomey. Having balconies that overlooked the ocean and the street was nice. The beach was nice here.

Can't wait for May, again :)
By ,
My friends and I stay there every year for the Memorial Day Holiday. The staff is great, the hotel clean, and even though it is a little pricey, we feel it is WELL worth the money. Where else can you sleep up to 7 in a room with a full kitchen, an ocean view and room to move around for under $200 bucks a night during one of the biggest holiday weekends of the year for the hotels at the beach?
