Not good enough
By DT, 4/26/12
I always stay at Holiday Inns on my trips and the hotel at this location was not up to par. The bathroom sink fixture did not function very well and the air conditioner put out really musty air and then started to freeze you not matter how you adjusted the thermostat. The location in downtown Ithaca was close to everything.

Never going to stay there again ever
By SuperCat, 12/31/08
The room smelled, but the staff was somewhat helpful. Hasn't been remodeled in ages. Water damage and mold. The walls was very thin, can hear everything next door. For the price go and stay at the Hilton Garden Hotel, a few blocks away is much better.

We will be Back!
By Mel, 7/20/08
I booked 2 rooms at a great price and after reading the reviews, I was concerned. My concerns went away when my family arrived 3 hours before me (I was on a 100 mile bike ride to the hotel)-they had lunch at the bar and had the best hamburger ever. The rooms were really nice-clean and well appointed. The location is perfect for travelers to see Ithaca-the staff-outstanding along with the service. The indoor pool was very nice, with towels available. When we asked the front desk for a good Italian restaurant, they steered us away from one that they heard was not very good and sent us to an amazing place called "Zaa Zaa's" .

A real disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/5/08
Not only did the hotel charge my credit card four months in advance, they gave me a hotel room that was in the "old section" dripping water from the ceiling outside , it smelled, the rug was disgusting. All in all a total and complete rip off. The location was the only good thing about it. I will never stay there again.

Location was perfect
By Ann, 5/17/07
It was a reasonably priced hotel for summer but the desk clerks were not able to give very good driving directions. More local information needed.

An overrated dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/26/07
The room smelled, the staff was rude. Hasn't been remodeled in ages. Water damage and mold. Way over-priced. I think the staff bolsters the reviews.

Holiday Inn
By Ryan, 4/26/07
This hotel is in prime location! The rooms are generic although the service is almost top notch! Bus shuttle available to and from airport/campus (just call front desk). They are overbooked often due to location and having to accommodate both Ithaca and Cornell campus. When calling the hotel for a reservation you have 3 options (tower high rooms, main building are standard hotel rooms, motel type rooms located in the back of the hotel that have a "outside entrance". If you have a complaint about something... let them know... they will give you free breakfast 9/10 times (complain in am when day manager is available to give it to you). They have a great restaurant with decent priced sandwich wraps/fries etc. They have a nice size pool and fitness room as well. The wireless internet is great too!

A real dump. Avoid at All Costs!
By neil, 4/12/07
Moldy, water damage, unhelpful staff. Way too much money for the room. Ugly views. There are plenty of better and cheaper hotels in Ithaca. It was much better years ago.

Do not stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/06
We spent two nights at this hotel after spending the previous thirteen nights changing hotels every night for an extensive journey across half of the country. I was really looking forward to spending more than one night somewhere only to be checked into a room with peeling wallpaper, paint peeling off the ceilings, cobwebs in the windowsills, a huge red blotch smeared in the middle of the window (ketchup? smashed insect?), black mold in the tile grout, and the bottom of the tub so dirty it honestly seemed to be a health hazard. I asked to have our room changed, which they did, but I must admit the new room had the same black mold in the grout, the tub was only a little cleaner and the window was covered with smeary handprints. However, since the window wasn't covered in a bloody /food substance and the wallpaper wasn't coming down around us, I tolerated it in the name of not changing hotels again. The hotel was very disappointing--too bad because the area is great. We will definitely return, but not to the Holiday Inn.

Overrated
By Timothy, 8/16/06
I stayed at the Holiday Inn in July 2006 and expected to stay for several days. The hotel staff requested that my family move to a different room after our first night (award stay) but didn't tell us until our room keys did not work the second day. We packed our luggage and moved to a different room only to find cobwebs around the curtains, a stained bathtub, and abundant dust and Cheerios under the bed. Our first room had hair all over the bathroom floor. We checked out and went to another hotel with the assurance that there would be no charge. The hotel "inadverntently" charged my credit card one night's stay, which I had to call about several times to get credited.
