Never Again- Beware

We moved to Florida last year and decided to go to Niagara Falls to surprise members of my organization who were there for their convention. Upon arrival we had to pay for the room in full. I requested a room near the elevator since my husband was hit by a car in Feb so excessive walking was an issue.I explained before arrival that we honeymooned in Niagara 3 yrs prior and wanted to celebrate our anniversary; so I ordered champagne in the room upon arrival. I had to remind them & ask them to bring it up before we went up. They left the champagne metal bucket directly on the desk, leaking all over, no tray, no glasses, & I had to clean it up-we drank from plastic cups. The bathtub was filthy and you had to walk into a dark room at night to find a light, none near the door. We were refused service in the restaurant, there were empty tables but were told we're busy so you can wait if you want but it will be a long time. We walked to Denny's (even though I was assured there was a restaurant in the lobby). That night, we had to wait 20 minutes for a drink & I was told they did not have amaretta, I saw someone hand the bottle to the bar maid, but she still served me my second choice. The lining was coming out of the pool, jets in the hot tub broken, & we were chased out 1/2 hour before closing. The gameroom was posted as open till 10 but they were closed a 9 when we went down, they next day they were open but 1/2 the games were broken. We ordered burgers that day and it took 1 hr to get them, & I had to keep going to the bar to check if they were ready cause they said they did not have enough wait staff. That night, we checked at the desk to see if room service was available, they said yes until 10pm. I called at 9:15 & was told they were too busy & hung up on. I had to complain to the desk (again) to get a pizza. They refused to accept my choice priviledge card for points. Their breakfast was horrible, we had to walk to Dennys in the Days Inn to eat everyday (we had no car since we were told there were restaurants in the area and everything was very close). The champagne bucket and napkins I cleaned up the mess with were left in the room 2 days till I complained at the desk regarding that too. When I met with the General Manager, which I had to wait till Friday because he was off, I checked in on Wednesday, I reported the above & much more I didn't even mention, he offered us a refund for one night and promised the room would be cleaned (tub) & our TV would be fixed. This never happened as of Sunday when we checked out. I complained to corporate and they said I should have checked out (even through I was required to pay in full at check in) and no other hotels on the american side were available since the American Legion Convention had all hotels booked. These are only some of the problems we had - I am still planning on bring suit against them if necessary to refund my money since they ruined our vacation. My husbands leg was aching, we had no convenient place to eat and were very uncomfortable. They have a card in the room with a guarantee to not be charged for the room if not corrected in a timely manner. The hotel says that means one night's stay, but there is no mention of one night on the guarantee card. Stay at another hotel, don't ruin your vacation too.
