Very sweet and trying hard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/16/11
The place is very pretty, and they are trying to upgrade. When we got there they suggested we come back after they installed the headboards. They seemed in the middle of a remodel, and the staff seemed a bit confused. The room was nice and clean, but their athletic room was not working. Machines worked but not well and the aircon wasnt working. Breakfast was perfect. They really are trying to put it together. I hope they do, because it's a nice location and very pretty.

Double charged and outdated.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/11
They double charged me for the room did not refund the money back. They did not put breakfast out- their excuse was "oh, we thought you left already". When we asked for wine glasses they were covered in water spots and fingerprints. Outdated. May have been nice it's it's hayday---but not anymore.

Worst Experience Ever at a B&B
By Evan, 10/10/10
I should have known their testimonials by Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep were a sign that this place would be one to stay away from. A bunch of us stayed at what appears to be (from the website) a charming hotel on the water. Far from it. This place once must have been nice but is now a rundown money pit. Elevator is out of service. Cobwebs. Unclean sheets. Wasps in room. Dirty toilet and tub, dirty towels. It was really disgusting. I'm not quite sure how they are getting away with charging the amounts they are for a room. Continental breakfast had us looking for a diner. Stay away from this place. We were tempted to pick up our stuff and move to the Courtyard Marriot which is not too far away.

Will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/10
There wasn't much to like about this place. Out of the way, near a noisy street, and run down. Paid more than should have. First room was depressing and curtain was torn. Asked to change rooms to look over falls which was better. Breakfast was disgusting. Left without eating or drinking the coffee. They advertise being voted "best of" but what year (?) and Tom Hanks looks about 20 when he stayed here, he certainly hasn't been back in many, many years and neither will we.

Stay away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/10
The place is not kept up, and isn't worth the "good" price. We stayed 2 separate days before and after a weekend and only went back the 2nd day because we prepaid. The first time we had to change rooms once and the 2nd time we had to change rooms twice. Rooms weren't vacuumed, sinks not wiped off, tables were either sticky or had an oily surface. The elevator doesn't work, nor does the air conditioner in the lobby. In checking for a clean room (the second night), they checked half a dozen rooms and couldn't seem to find one that was cleaned at all. Not worth even $40 for a night's visit. (We didn't go to the continental breakfast, so can't comment on it.) The staff were decent; one was new. But, the place isn't worth going to.

So Sad!!!
By Barb, 6/15/10
My daughter and I spent the week-end at the Inn at the Falls about five years ago. We made reservation via the internet early in the spring and got a very good rate. It was absolutely beautiful and one of my favorite trips. The rooms were really nice and we had breakfast brought to the room each morning. The grounds were lovely and well cared for. The staff was very helpful with information on restaurants and places to shop near by. The Inn was a little "off the beaten path" but that was part of its charm. It apparently is closed now due to some legal problems. I hope someone restores it and opens it again. It is really a loss for the area.

So disappointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/09
I wish I had read the previous review before booking a weekend. From dead plants in the urns to broken window seals to outdated rooms in disrepair...Even the elevator was out of order. It was not anything like its ads. It needs so much work. Definitely not worth the price.

Should have gone to a Motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/08
Unfortunately this B&B has just gone down hill. It was once a beautiful little spot in Poughkeepsie, but after my recent stay, I can honestly say that I will not be returning. Service was almost non existent, the rooms were not as clean as they could have been, breakfast wasn't prepared by a CIA Chef as promised and there was a loud party going on in an upstairs room, which I believe to have been thrown by the employees! It's unfortunate that this once beautiful B&B is in the current run-down shape it is in.

Wonderful stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/06
The Inn was quaint and charming and the friendly front desk staff made us feel like family. We loved staying at this undiscovered little gem in the Hudson Valley.
