Excellent Hotel
By Todd, 03/24/09
Let me start by saying that I've had to travel to Buffalo on business about 30 times in the last three years. In a constant quest for diversity, I've stayed at just about every downtown Buffalo hotel. This place is the best. They have far and away the best service of any Holiday Inn I've visited- heck the service beats even some of the nicest and most expensive hotels I've visited (I'm looking at you, Waldorf Astoria...) The management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Whether it's the maids, managers, or wait-staff, everyone is genuinely willing to do anything to make the customer happy. They also always seem knowledgeable, and I've never had a single issue with disorganization or confusion (this seems to be SO common at many hotels). The rooms are pretty large, always clean, and have standard but nice decor. Everything is always immaculate and clean. The restaurant is surprisingly fantastic. I avoided it on my first few visits because I've had negative experiences at other Holiday Inn restaurants. They offered a three-bread and three-spread (basil butter, olive spread, boursin cheese) basket free of charge when I sat down. I had Tuscan chicken for dinner which was excellent, and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the food and wine. A free drink with each night and manager's happy hour during the week are also a plus. I would recommend that anyone visiting Buffalo stay here, save a few bucks, and thank me later.

Good Experience
By Dee, 02/22/09
I personally had a good time. The neighborhood wasnt great, but it was at a good location due to its distance to Niagra Falls. Everyone there was very friendly, and helpful. I would recommend it, truly comfortable and at a good price.

Worse hotel in Buffalo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/08/08
Neighborhood was a little shady. Altough it was recetly 'renovated' room looked like they were from the 70's with cheap furniture and shabby beds. My brother sat on the edge of he bed and the mattress flipped up. The elevators were slow and looked worn. The bathroom was not clean. In the morning I got the surprise of my life. On the opposite wall from the bed I saw hundreds of bugs, some with wings, climbing up the wall from the base board. I packed up and ran out of the room in record time. Do not stay at the hotel, you will regret it if you do. PS I have the pictures to prove it!

My Experience At Holiday Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/12/08
My family and I (1 Teen, 1 Pre-Teen, 1 Husband) checked into the Holiday Inn, and headed for our room. There was two doubles. I didn't like that. My kids always fight about having to share a bed, and my son ended up sleeping on the floor. I also requested that a mini-fridge be in the room for my daughter's insulin; that didn't happen. I had to call room service. The beds were very comfortable, however, the pilliows were a bit scratchy. Fine by me, I brought my own. I espically enjoyed reading my book by the window while the rest of the family slept in for a while. Our family went down to the pool, and to our liking, discovered it wasn't to cold or to hot. My daughter was very happy when she discovered there was a deep end. Our time at the pool was pleasent; however when we exited the pool, all of the Hotel's towels were soaking wet on chairs. My kids and I hopped back in the now warm pool while we waited for my husband to return with new towels from the Hotel. In conclusion, Holiday Inn is a good place to stay, but be prepared for some minor frustration. I'd go back again! :)

Disappointing
By The Rock, 08/21/07
For a Holiday Inn, this hotel is disappointing. The staff there seemed indifferent for the most part (I seem to think that hospitality should be priority #1). I certainly did not have the impression that they were “happy to have me.” The rooms are very tiny; especially in comparison to the price. The restaurant is poor at best. The food was satisfactory but the service was poor. While the location is great, if you have time to explore downtown Buffalo and the Elmwood district; overall, if you have ever stayed at a "nice" hotel, you may find the experience at this Holiday Inn leaves much to be desired. Look elsewhere...

Good Luck with the staff
By cindy, 08/12/07
The location was great for the time we were there,8-10-8-11, otherwise staff was less than helpful, rather on the rude side, dont ask for directions you will get hit with attitude and they make you feel like your stupid.I actually lost a sweater , stopped to ask if anyone had found it, no one could help me because the housekeeping staff was not in, I guess i am not sure why staff could not check lost and found, also if yoiu are looking to use the air conditioning that comes with the room, good luck, the air doid not work from the time we got there to the time we left..so I caution you know the city, and dont rely on the staff, less than helpful, there is no holiday there.

Great place to stay!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/05
I stayed here for a weekend. We went to a hockey and football game. Our ladies also enjoyed shopping. You can walk to the famous Anchor Bar. The bars and night clubs are a $4 cab ride away. There is a 24 hour Walgreens right next door. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel also has great security during football weekends. There is a restaurant and bar that is pretty good if you feel like not heading out. This hotel is easy to locate for those of us that are driving in from north of the border. Overall a great stay. Thank you.

Awesome!
By Karina, 11/14/05
I loved the people who worked at this Holiday Inn. The service was amazing and so was the location. The fact that there was a 24/hour Wallgreens across the parking lot helped a lot! Next time we're bringing our dog with, since this is a dog friendly hotel!

Great Place, Excellent Price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/03/05
This was a cheap hotel for a great price. We highly recommend it. The staff was very polite and the restaurant had great food. The pool was small and right next to the restaurant. We had no desire of showing off our bodies to the restaurant crowd as well as I had no desire to look at old women and out of shape men in speedos tanning by the pool while I eat. We were there for only one night but there seems to be a lot of nightlife around the hotel within walking distance.

Walk to the Anchor Bar!
By JosephC, 05/28/05
I stayed here for the Saint Joseph's NCAA Tournament in 2004. It is an older property but has comfortable rooms and a very good staff. It is a short walk to The Anchor Bar, home of the original Buffalo Wings, and also to the light rail line which runs into the center of town and takes you right to the HSBC Arena. I strongly recommend a dinner at the Buffalo Chop House while you are in town. From the Holiday Inn it is a short drive to the Peace Bridge into Canada if you want to do a day trip to Toronto and of course an easy ride to Niagra Falls.
