Great place to have a wedding.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/11
It was the ideal place for a September wedding. Gorgeous view of the lake was had by all. Everyone attending had something nice to say about the place. Great food, great staff and great owners. Would go back again. Our hostess did everything she could to make the wedding a big success. Thank you Sara.

great family vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/11
My family and I had another great stay at Blue Water Manor. This was our forth time I believe. We stayed with other family members ranging in age from 52 to 8. Nobody wanted to leave and everyone wanted to stay for two weeks next visit. It is rustic and woodys, not perfect but a very friendly atmosphere including other guests which is a lot to say for Dan and Ellen, the hosts. The water sports are excellent. Jimmy who manages the water skiing, tubing and banana boat is very patient, fair and informative. There is a restaraunt on premises which we enjoy very much especially the caribbean night at the bar....always fun! When we first found this place I didn't want to tell anyone in fear it would get to crowded. Well it has gotten more crowded over time but thankfully it has not interupted our stay. Talking to other guests seems we're not the only ones coming back and few others plan to continue going. In short I would recommend this highly for families who enjoy the lake and relaxing. As I said it is not perfect but what it may lack in upkeep is more than made up in every other area. Have fun!

Exactly what I need!
By Matthew, 7/20/11
I REALIZE THIS IS LONG BUT I LOVE THIS PLACE - - If I am traveling to the Adirondacks I don't want to stay in a posh hoity-toity resort. I want rustic. I want knotty pine walls. I want the smell of a camp fire. The Blue Water Manor offers ALL of it. The cabins/rooms have knotty pine walls, clean facilities and at a great price. Will you get an occasional spider to greet you in the shower in the morning? Yes! BUT YOU ARE IN THE ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS!! You are lucky it's not a damn Bear! It has a pool that is basically in an airplane hanger with a hot tub. It also has a tennis court that my lady and I use every time. It has a fire pit that beckons anyone with a guitar to initiate a sing along. You can rent canoes and kayaks. Take boat rides, swim in the crystal clear lake. They are the only place on the outskirts of the Village of Lake George with a full restaurant and bar with live music. A lot of the locals will make their way to the bar at days end to listen to the music, so you aren't limited to mingling with solely the other guests at the facility. It is a short ride from the Village of Lake George, but there are shuttles that run along the western coast, and if you chose to stay out late the taxis are cheap for a resort town. If Blue Water Manor wasn't the distance it is from the Village we would have never discovered the town of Bolton Landing which is has all kinds of knick knack shops and restaurants. And it's busy, but not as busy as the Village of LG. Definitely worth a breakfast/morning trip but for night life you should go to the Village of LG and then have a night cap at the bar on the Blue Water Manor grounds and listen to some live music. You'll be singing on your way back to your room, probably louder than you should at that hour, and you'll probably be greeted by that spider again. But you should thank him for letting you stay at a resort built in his habitat in the Adirondack Mountains.

Best Place on the Lake
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/11
All of the other reviews have said it best--this is the perfect balance of time away, scenic views, plenty do, and friends away from home. Dan and Ellen treated us like friends and made our stay very comfortable. We enjoyed time alone, ventured on the lake, went on bike rides, and did a boat tour--everything you want to do is here! The best part about the Blue Water Manor is the excellent service and the welcoming environment that Dan and Ellen create. We have made it a point to go every year--this will be our third time!

No Complaints here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/8/10
My week at Blue Water Manor was terrific! The location is perfect with great views of the full moon rising over the water. I also enjoyed a few sunrises watching early morning water skiers while sipping my coffee. The staff made it clear they enjoy making their guests happy and comfortable. They were helpful with information about events around town, had many activities planned right on site, and really made sure that we enjoyed everything about our stay. The price we paid for unlimited water sports was very reasonable! The water sports staff had us out enjoying every boat and activity, and gave us a an informative and leisurely tour of the lake and surrounding cliffs and homes. The cabins were rustic and comfortable. Because of their age, they did not have adequate electrical outlets but we managed. The bathrooms were clean but certainly not updated. The food was delicious at every meal. We had a memorable week and hope to return!

I finally found it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/23/10
I grew up at Lake George every summer since I was 8. I stayed at a quaint little rustic resort called Bluebird Cottages. They have since sold out and turned into mansions. Ive tried many other places on the lake and they just didnt feel right. But Ive finally found my new home. And Dan and his crew have done an excelent job of giving you every amenity possible and really leave no reason to even leave thier awesome resort. Ive been back almost every weekend since my first visit. Im so pleased to have found my new Lake George home away from home and my new friends at Blue Water Manor. Love you guys and you now have all my family and friends comming there as well. Thank you and know all your efforts are very appreciated. As for some of the comments on here, if you want to be pampered and have hypallergenic comforters and such then your not looking for the true Adirondak experience and you probably should go stay at the Sagamore for $600 a night. Thanks again guys and see you Labor Day weekened.

Already planning our next trip!
By Jen and Matt, 8/14/10
We headed to Blue Water Manor on Lake George for our honeymoon in July. We had an amazing time. The resort had so much to offer right there on the spot. With the Village of Lake George just a few miles south and Bolton Landing just a few miles north, we were not struggling to find things to do. We took advantage of the water skiing, canoeing, row boats, restaurant, swimming, fishing charter, and just plain lazy days on the lake. We had a modest room that met our needs. It was like staying in the cabin I grew up in on a lake in Iowa. But it met our needs since we were hardly in the room. The meal plan worked great for us - 2 meals a day, easy, good food, and good service. And there was so much for kids to do! We did not have our children with us since we were on our honeymoon. But we've already started planning our next trip with my sister and her family, including her two children and our son. We'll stay longer next time and can't wait to share the experience with our family. This isn't a 5-star resort, so if that's what you're looking for, you need to move on. But if you're looking for a comfortable, fun, lazy time on Lake George at an affordable price with tons for you and your family to do right there onsite, Blue Water Manor is the place for you. And don't forget to check out all the other things going on on Lake George. Blue Water Manor is just a few minutes from all of those, including cruise tours, horseback riding, and views from Prospect Mountain in the Adirondacks!

Amazing view!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/10
WOW! We were lucky to see a beautiful moonrise over the adirondack mtns. It was almost a full moon that weekend! It is a rustic resort with an AMAZING staff. Traveling with little ones always has it's surprises and they helped with everything! They even have a supply of first aid materials at no charge. Thank you Blue Water Staff!

Clean, rustic, totally relaxed place. Water activities right on premises, either free or very reasonable. Terrific and friendly staff. Absolutely great food. Not luxurious but you dont need it.
