Days Inn Hicksville Long Island, Hicksville

I spent a night at Days Inn and found none of the negative issues that a few people mentioned here (like it not being safe or smelling bad). All in all, the motel was clean, easy to find, and far better than the previous, comparably priced hotel I'd stayed at while on Long Island. The positives were as follows: friendly staff, free (modest) breakfast, wireless internet and decent TV with free cable, mini fridge, and the best priced place to stay for a short visit. Granted, if you come from somewhere like Iowa or West Virginia, you'd pay a lot less for similar lodgings. But this is Long Island, folks, and unless you want to shell out double this for a slightly fancier place, you won't find a better value than Days Inn in Hicksville.

The place was very simple and clean. When we first pulled up we weren't too sure about the property. It looked somewhat older than what we were used to. When we checked in however the front desk clerk Tom was very friendly and helpful. Gave us directions to Nassau Coliseum. The rooms are very clean! Nothing fancy but the dvd player was definitely a plus and the flat screen was a surprise. The bathroom looked brand new with beautiful tiles. I would definitely recommend this place for a few days in long island. Its not the sheraton or Hilton but you can't beat the price and the free wifi and breakfast. Even had a small fridge for my beers.

My family stayed for one night over the Thanksgiving weekend. The rooms were fine. They were clean,the bathrooms were clean. The staff were very helpful. We would stay there again. We did not have any trouble it was very quite,a good night 's sleep.

liked notheing pulling into the parking lot was like going into a crime scene. families stay away, couples stay away.

The positive things about this hotel are: less expensive, kitchen facility, some good kitchen utensils, free breakfast was nice, room service and front desk people are good. but i hate the following: first we stayed in a room , that had a bad smelling toilet.the smell didnt go even after too many cleaning. then got another one..but every where we had bad dreams though the mattress was ok.i dont know why. i m not sure if anybody got the same feeling. Internet was very poor and i cudnt browse in day time but its connecting in night. locks are not perfect.many times i ran to activate my keys. some tips: bring your own cloth hangers, and personal items. bring a room freshener.bring images of ur God and religion. As a whole, its ok for a short trip.

Think carefully before you go to this place - this place was crawling with cambodian or chinese gang members - in my effort to save 15 dollars i had the misfortune to stay in this location - should have gone somewhere else - take my word (i know its hard coming from the internet) but spend the additional few dollars and stay somewhere else! - my wife was petrified the whole night we had to stay there(no choice came in real late) we got out of there the next morning - later is when i found out from relatives that this place has been raided several times by local cops for gangs, 'slave' workers from china working as housekeeping, from my understanding the 'hotel' is a front for other activities.
