The Lodge At Santa Fe, Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Santa Fe

Amazing hotel, great view. loved the rooms. pool was closed but the hottub was open. only took 10-15 minutes to walk to the plaza, take the shuttle back though it's an uphill walk back to the Lodge.

I am a past resident of Santa Fe and now reside in California. I was taking my new wife and another couple to show them the sites of one of my favorite cities in the world. It was very crowded because of Indian Market weekend but I had known the Raddison (the previous owner) so figured it was safe enough. WRONG!!! I have never been in a dirtier, more soiled stained linens and carpets place in my life! Even my recent visit to Tijuana had more comfortable mattresses. So after not sleeping most of the night from the bed, the AC that didn't work and the loud plumbing (you could hear the flush from the room next door) we went looking for other accomodations. Thank God La Posada off the plaza had room. The remainder of our trip was glorious. Unless they gut the place and rebuild it from the inside out I wouldn't recommend this no matter how desparate you are. Oh yeah, and to help keep the hallways cool the staff blocks the entrance doors open. I guess you could say it is air conditioned. The security doors didn't even have locks!

This place does not even come close to the images and description on the web site. This is a 2 star hotel with a 4 star web site. What you are getting is a '70's motel room with a quick facelift, connected to a nice lobby/restaurant building. You check in at the front desk, then find out you have to drive around the back of the complex to your room. There are no valets either. The room numbers are very difficult to read at night from your car. Footstep noise from the room above was a constant nuisance.
