Quality Inn Meadowlands, Lyndhurst

The rooms are very run down and in ill repair. The internet never worked. The desk and housekeeping rarely answer the phone. The tub drain was broken and the tub floor was so cracked it would bounce when you moved. There was mold and peeling caulking in the bathroom. Most importantly, I would never feel safe there. A fire alarm went off around 3 A.M. We wandered around the parking lot for over 30 minutes with no fire trucks in site. I was about to call 911 myself but I went into the lobby to find out what was happening, just in time to overhear the police asking the manager why he waited so long to call them. I have notified the local and corporate managers with no response. Am I overreacting? You decide if your life and property are worth the risk.

this was just what we were looking for except for the people who kept walking by our window early am speaking another language, loudly!! every thing was ok otherwise

I recently stayed at the Quality Inn with a group. The location was ok. There is bus right outside the property that drops you at the port authority at 41st and 8th. I would stay here again but the rooms and resturant are terrible. If I had not been with a group I would have left! It sayd recently remodeled that clearly means they bought new bedspreads and carpet, everything else in the room was old and dirty. There were holes in my bathroom wall that someone and stuffed with toliet paper! Also two of the three days I stayed I did not have hot water, actually the water was bearly warm! I would not recommend this hotle to anyone! Stay across the street there are two hotels there!

Everything went smoothly from check in to check out. Checked prices for NYC area and this hotel was most reasonable. Would recommend as a NYC alternative. Family of 4, breakfast was adequate - Car problems and the staff went out of their way to help- Rooms are very clean, alittle dated but knowing what happened in NYC the last 4 years it must of been difficult-Great place & people. Felt very safe and comfortable.....

last there in 2004 (August) it was raining and the ceiling as well as the windows in the corridor both leaking. Price is somewhat expensive for the atmosphere but I guess the location has a lot to do with it. The room was clean and the staff friendly. I will be going back again this week. Hopefully they got the leaks fixed. :)
