Not a good place to stay
By DAVID H, 09/09/07
We have a big family and it requires two rooms for us. The first night the air conditioning did not work at all in one room and not very good in the other. We called the front desk that night and they sent someone to check it out. He came and just looked at it and left. We were out all the next day and when we came back it still was not fixed. The front desk people were rude and unconcerned. I had to ask for the manager. The door from our room to the other room had a hole in it. The bathrooms are so small you do not have room to move, and the only outlet I could find to charge my cellphone was in the bathroom by the sink. There are no restaurants nearby and getting to and from New York City is expensive and troublesome.

Decent Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/27/07
Just across the GW Bridge from upper Manhattan, this hotel was pretty good for its class and price. It doesn't pretend to be what it isn't - this ain't the Four Seasons. The staff were friendly, the breakfast buffet was good, and the parking was convenient. It is a little tricky getting to the hotel from the bridge as trucks make a sport of cutting you off from your exit...but nothing to worry about. Treat yourself to some nice Korean food in Fort Lee while you're there. Count on using your car and parking in Manhattan rather than tempting the bus/taxi/subway option. You'll be glad you did.

Very nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/06
This hotel was clean - one of the cleanest we stayed in on this particular vacation - and the staff was helpful. The pool was very nice, although a bit crowded.

Great hotel, especially for an NYC commute
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/06
This is a great place to stay at, especially if you don't mind taking your car into Manhattan and parking for the day. It's clean, the staff is very helpful and it is literally right beside the GW Bridge. There is also a bus stop right next door, but you will have to take a cab back. The hotel offers cab operator phone numbers. The NYC cabbies will try to jerk you around, but plan on anywhere from a $25-40 (I've even heard $50) cab ride, and that's from 181st Street in Manhattan!! My advice: take the bus to Manhattan, use the subway all day, ride it back to the GW and look for or call one of the cabs the hotel recommends (they have their number on the front desk). The rooms are nice and clean, there's a pool, breakfast is a reasonably priced buffet and the cable package is awesome. I recommend it highly, especially if you like to drive into the city!

the nightmaire

The hotel charged my visa card and demanded a proof that I made a prepayment to the Yahoo in a discourteous manner. When I found that the stay had been charged to my visa acount, I called the Yahoo and the hotel. The Yahoo Travel kindly called the people while me being on hold. Later, the hotel called to bring the visa card, which I did. One lady demanded my visa card and very rudely asked me to answer why the hotel charge and the yahoo payment did differ. Amd why I made the payment to Yahoo 10 days before the date of the stay. I got embarrassed but I said, "everyone knows that we pay as we reserve online. The Yahoo will not charge after we stay." I said," I know this stuff because I am a business professor teaching this stuff (I am a marketing faculty)." Then she said, "OK." I still had to wait about 10-15 minutes in the lobby before she reappeared with my visa card and all other documents I had brought as evidence of prepayment. I did not say anything negative since I did not feel like arguing with anyone at the time. I just left hoping what had happened to me would never occur to anyone. I dearly hope such incident will not frustrate and embarass future Yahoo travel customers. Thank you for your time and attention. Keun S Lee

Good hotel, but could be better
By Manda, 09/19/05
We found this hotel very convenient for our visit to Manhattan, but had the benefit of being able to use our own car. Despite the $6 bridge toll and $25-$30 parking fees on the Upper West Side, staying in this hotel represented a significant saving over similar quality hotels in Manhattan. Having said that, the attitude of some of the desk staff was poor - they were apathetic at best. Still, I would recommend this Hotel as an economical option for visiting Manhattan.

Great Staff & Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/14/05
This hotel location was very convenient to travel in and out of new york city. Although the toll is $6.00 for the bridge it is a lot less money than a new york city hotel. The staff was very friendly and was able to direct me appropriately throughout the city.

If you go to NY City dont stay here.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/04
If your plans involve primarily to visit Manhattan this hotel is extremely inconvenient. First you have to fly to Newark otherwise you will have to pay about $90.00 in a taxi drive, not $60 as advertised on their website. Second to go to NY City, you have to take a bus to get to the subway station. That seems like normal; however on your way back from the City (since this hotel is located in one side of the highway) you have to take: a) a bus to the end of the GW Bridge and find a Taxi (if you are lucky to find one, and believe me if you are that lucky you better go to Atlantic City) to take you to the hotel. Total price: Around $15.00 b) a taxi directly from the subway station to your hotel. Total Price: $27.00 Maybe you will save a few bucks (even if you include the transportation prices), but you for your own benefit, unless your plan is to see the Giants, pay the extra and stay in Manhattan.
