Howard Johnson Hotel Atlantic City, Atlantic City

For the past year i have lodged at this place from time 2 time, and i never had any complaints. I normally pay 49.99 a night and inquired about the rates before i decided to stay those nights. I was given a price of 110.00 for 2 nights. The following day my guest amd i went out to the amuusement park with the kids. When we returned, the key wouln't open the door. when i inquired at the front desk, he said my time was up. I ask for an explanation, andwas told that those rates were only in the colder months. i asked to be let in the room to retrieve my belongings. my belongings wre all place in black garbage bags and sitting in their office. i ask could i use any room to just change the baby and let the other kids change their clothing, i was denied. I reside in brooklyn, and had to be humiliated like that with children. It was very unethical treatment and after all the times i've stayed there, I've decided that was my last time.

1. Parking is ridiculous: especially if you are handicap and can't walk much 2. Finding parking is ridiculous 3. Walking in and out of the parking garage to the elevator smells like the entrace to the zoo(foul and dirty) 4. You can walk either way thru Holiday Inn's lobby or on a narrow ramp that is locked after hours and a ways from the Howard Johnson. 5. Next thing is as you walk into the lobby of the Howard Johnson it smells as if they have been training animals to use the potty but not succeded. The smell is terrible. 6. The ride to the room was in the smellest elevator ever! To be let off on a floor that is suppose to be smoke free but you see billows of smoke coming from ever where. Inside the rooms they are still using safes that use keys instead of combinations or credit cards to open. Toilet seats that are discolored and need to be replaced. Advertisment for refrigerator not available. Pool is where garbage is throw and they should be given some type of citation for its foul contents. The noise all times of the day and night from the guests is not welcoming for relaxation after a day at the casino or the beach. The front desk staff are not very informational or accommadating. If it weren't for the Bell Captain we would not have gotten any information regarding the area's benefits outside of the brochures. My last comment would be if this were the last place to stay in the world bring a toilet sit cover, a mist to spray when you pass through the areas I mentioned, use sleeping pills at night and ask the Bell Captain if you need any information because the front desk is not helpful at all.

Filthy motel. Needs to be updated. No excuse for lobby furniture to be trashed, with foam exposed on the sofa. Horrible smell of "skunk" in the hallways. Room odors were not much better. Carpet was disgusting; noise levels high from hallways, surrounding rooms, or main street outside. Bathrooms were nasty. Parking limited. Something positive...sheets on the bed appeared to be clean and location is good. None of the positives outweighed the negative. Spend your money somewhere else, even if it costs a little more.
