Claridge Casino at Ballys, Atlantic City

I have stayed at this facility in the past---each time we stay it has gotten worse and worse---the last time it made us hit our limit of never returning----our room was very dirty---the bed spreads seemed like they were never changed---one of the beds was missing bed spreads. We found used tissues scattered throughout the room on the floor---some of these things we didn't notice till after our day had ended and we were getting ready to go to sleep for the night---we said we will just deal with it in the morning---expecting some type of an apology from management after we told them---but no apology---just telling us this has happened with this housekeeper before---and that they have to charge us an additional $10 to complete our stay. If you are looking for dirty rooms---they have 15/dollar a night hotels on the other side of town---would proly get the same service as spending 150/night here.

Hotel room was clean, could have used a little more light in the bathroom, especially when you took a shower. I enjoyed the little park in front with the colorful water and light display at night, when coming off of the boardwalk. BUT: What I did not like- the strong cleaning /disinfectant smell in the hallways, the $5 charge each time you wanted to use the pool, and the $20 charge each time you wanted to use the pool and fitness center. I chose to use the beach and walk and bicycle on the boardwalk instead. Also the internet link/hookup was horrible, it took forever to upload anything or to try to check your email. Since I needed to use my computer for work and was paying by the day to use it, this was a real pain! Next time I go to Atlantic City I will try some other place.

The Claridge is a D U M P. Ballys will let you book a room on the internet and then stick you in this Dump. The rooms are dirty, the service worse, and the slots terrible. do not stay here or Ballys........

For what you pay and how good the location is The Claridge Tower is a great value. Could have been cleaner for sure (More like old stains on the lampshades than actual filth) but the staff couldnt have been nicer and you can walk to most Casinos and attractions in 10 minutes tops. If you are going to play or party dont listen to the reviews and give it a shot.

Most employees very rude. (dealers) They talk about other employees in public areas. Bathrooms are filthy. Same standard food as other casinos. Save money & stay home.

This was our first trip back to Atlantic City in five years and I was very excited. We stayed at the Claridge in 2004 prior to the renovations and after reading the negative reviews I was almost afraid of what I would find. We had absolutely no problems at all. The room was ready when we arrived, we were checked in quickly, got our new players cards quickly and the bell man brought our bags up promptly. The room itself was clean, good size television and the bed was very comfortable. The room also had coffee, very nice toiletries, plenty of hot water and great water pressure. It might not be the newest or most spectacular hotel on the boardwalk, but it suited our needs just fine. All the staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. I asked the security staff several times for directions and they went out of their way to make sure I knew exactly where I was going. I also like the central location of the Claridge. If you want to go to the beach or boardwalk, you can take the elevator right down to street level, without having to go through a crowded casino. The Claridge was nothing like I expected - It was much much better. Go and have fun!

Went on a bus tour with group from work, after reading reviews was very worried about cleanliness, but was very clean. Bathroom spotless, beds very comfortable. Rooms are small and old fashioned but do not worry about run down or dirty. Will be pleasantly surprised, casino small but staff is friendly. Only concern was street lobby has no guard or anyone working there, but all guests must use the room card to access the elevators to room.

Was very scared to stay here after reading the reviews posted; but this was a pre-booked bus trip and did not have much of a choice. Although the hotel is older, the room was wonderful! Bathroom was small, but clean. Room itself was very clean, although again small. Carpet looked to be new, bed was quiet and comfortable. The only noise was the other guests slamming their doors. We had a total of around 25 rooms and did not hear one person on the bus complain about their stay. As a matter of fact many of us commented on how we were going to right reviews because what we read was nothing of what we experienced. Do not fear the Claridge; employees were nothing but kind and friendly!

The Claridge Hotel Sucks !!!! Fist the door wouldn't open and we had to wait with my husband running back and forth to the front desk trying to figure out what the reason is. Second the first thing that we saw when FINALLY came in to the room was a dirty bathroom with a trashcan full of trash. Everything is very old and dirty. We left the next day after we had to pay for the internet access which never actually worked. The service and people are the worst. WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.

first time staying in any AC casino/hotel even though I live in NJ. 2:30am we are awakened by the terrifying sound of the fire alarm going off. the stairs are POORLY marked and everyone on our floor was in a panic! we bolted SIXTEEN FLIGHTS to the exit. there was about 30 guests that left that stairwell and I think we were all on the same floor. No security or hotel management or staff to meet us at the exit and tell us were to go or communicate what was going on or when it was safe to go back in! Upon confirmation that it was just some joker that pulled a box we were let in but the staff had a hard time resetting the elevators. then after letting the crowd thin out so we can take a less crowded elevator car back to our floor, it stops a few floors up and some idiot with a room service cart get in and fumbles with the controls.... ROOM SERVICE???!!!! WE JUST WERE EVACUATED!!!! I guess noone communicates with anyone there (or some nimrod descided eating was more important then maybe his life) We left a few hours after that ordeal! we couldnt sleep after all that! It'll be a while before we stay again!
