Christmas Island Resort Motel, Laconia

The room was really rundown and smelly, floors were sticky in bathroom, kept on flipflops through the whole place. Top of heat registers was falling off, could not get the door open easily and when I pushed it, finger hit side of door and took big gouge out of it, still trying to heal, and no one seemed to care!! For the $100.00 to $150.00 please go elsewhere this is not worth it. The one good thing, the restaurant was nice, reasonable and food was good!!

were were told we could check out at 1pm, nope 11am. we were told they would put a cot in our room for my nephew, he slept on the floor. She told us it was a 15 walk to the wiers beach (we went up for lacona bike week 2009) boy was she wrong.. more like a 40 minute walk and no sidewalks! she knew we had a 15 month oldbaby with us!!!! we couldnt walk down there which meant we couldnt go becuase we didnt bring $$ to park our car! and they gave us a whole whopping $5 off..... when we check out the manager wasnt available but the girl at the desk called up the girl who told us all these tales and made our reservations, guess what she had to say..... "what do you want me to do about it" i swear i am NOT making this up. This was the WORST $214 i have ever spent in my ENTIRE life. room was hot, bathroom wasnt clean, room was tiny, towels smelled funny... shall i continue? seriously..................

the location was the best. so close to everything we could walk. The rooms could use some updating but for the most part I enjoyed my stay... This is my second time at x-mas island and I recommend it.

the review above is correct about the bathrooms..not enough room to turn around in.. the toilet seat was old & bubbled & the shower drain backed up. My room was EXTREMELY over priced @ 169.00 a night for a king sized room. Room was outdated & the carpets was in poor quality.. furniture was cheap @ beat & tv was TINY with only the basic channels. Most of the personal that worked there were friendly but beware of the middle aged bleach blond.. she has a chip on her shoulder & a scowl for anyone that dares greet her
