AWESOME
By ,
what caught our attention originally was the price. what might have been their only down fall was the price lol everyone and their brother was staying here and the line was long to check in ha ha that is the ONLY bad thing everything else was superb. our room was stocked and clean, the hallways were quiet. the pool was cool and refreshing. the back alley bar was awesome it was free to get in and they have awesome drink specials and a dance floor. the buffet was delicious. the staff was knowledgeable. they have a mcdonalds inside that is open 24 hours and a topless pool! i cant say enough about the pleasant time we had staying at the stratosphere

No complaints here
By ,
I normally don't post things especially on review sites, but I feel I must say something here. Before my husband and I left for our trip I read through most of these reviews and got very worried. I have been to Vegas twice before this recent trip and was beginning to wish I booked somewhere else. I am glad I didn't listen to what everyone had to say on this site. The hotel did NOT smell, the rooms are nice and cold (and we were there in mid-July), very clean, and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We only waited about 5 minutes to check in. All of these "hidden fees" are not hidden, and are explained upon reservation. Also, every hotel in Vegas has these resort fees...it's just part of the package. Yes, you have to pay for internet, but again...that is everywhere! Yes, the casino smells like smoke a bit, but what hotel in Vegas doesn't??? I am a non-smoker and the amount of smoke I was smelling did not even phase me. Our room was great, hot tub and SUPER comfy bed. The only downside to staying here is the distance between the main part of the strip, but again....you know this going into it. We walked all the way down to Bellagio and taxied back. Another day we took the Deuce bus and it was only $7 for a 24 hour pass. If you want to be part of the "Vegas buzz" stay somewhere like New York New York or Excalibor. It is a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. I would recommend the Stratosphere to anyone going to Vegas on a budget. We had a great time, and saved a bunch by staying there. We had a blast in the Casino, at the pool, and saw Bite which was awesome. We also rode the rides on the top and stayed up there admiring the view for atleast an hour. Definitely a must-do. Bottom line - don't listen to the negative reviews you read here. I found none of it to be true.

So-so
By ,
There were only 3 people in front of us in the check-in line when we got there but it still took us almost half an hour before we were checked in. The room was clean but the AC was awful, I turned it down as cold as it would go (60 degrees) and I would still sweat at night. They charge $12 a day for internet and the connection isn't very good. The hotel was far away from the fun area of the strip. The cheapest way to get around is to take the double decker bus, The Deuce, but be prepared for a long ride.

Wouldn't go back!!
By ,
We thought that this was going to be a good experience seeing that this hotel was on the main strip......I have never written an review about a hotel, but felt this was absolutely necessary. The place smelled as soon as you entered the hotel, the casino and entire hotel carpet was dirty and soiled, the staff was not intentionally being difficult to provide services it appeared as though they didn't know any better, the food was subpar, the rooms were not much to be desired of..........i only recommend this hotel if you are going to be drunk the entire stay and don't care, but if you are sober and are accustomed to decent accomodations then please don't disappoint yourselves (go elsewhere). I ended my trip stay several days earlier, booked a flight to florida (where i crossed 3 times zones) to relax and release from just a miserable stay....again if this is all you can afford (hmm....then OK, but if can do just a lil bite better) then do so.

Visiting soon
By ,
I have read many of the review posted on this site, and one thing I realized is that lots of people mentioned these so called "hidden fees". If you look at the hotels website, it tells you internet is 11.99 a day and so on. If you all were smart, you would do a little bit of research when you book a room at ANY hotel. I dont think its right that you bash a hotel based on a experience you brought on yourself. HOW SELFISH. Next time, do your research, dont complain about things you should have known about before you even stayed there, and let people that are going to be visiting decide for themselves what they think!!!

Lot's of hidden fees and surprises!
By ,
I just left there, June 11, 2009, with my 8 year old daughter and I will never go back again. They advertise internet service but neglect to tell you it is $11.99 a day. They also neglect to tell you that there is a $7.50 resort fee for every day you are there (you will find this out when you are checking out). If you are on a family vacation and have normal hours you can forget about getting your room cleaned at an appropriate time. There were several days that we returned to the hotel at 4PM and nothing was touched. Another negative is that the pool is only 4 feet deep. There is another pool that is topless and on the top floor and of course is 21 and over. We decided to get a room with a hot tub but 3 of the 8 jets didn't work and the other 5 barely made a wave. Please think twice about staying here if you are on a family vacation. If you don't care about the service and ammenities you are still better off staying at a dump with a bed! The tower was nice but the coupons given to you are not worth the paper they are printed on.

not too bad`
By ,
I stayed in May and the room was a wonderful price. 20bucks a night in vegas is actually a great deal! the view was spectacular! we rooms on the 23d floor. it actually wasn't my first choice for a hotel, but it was a business trip and the freeway was a convenient distance. the only problem i had was the blinky light in our bathroom(cue the creepy movie music) and our sink backing up leaving a stinky smell to come back after being out all day. the staff was quite efficient by fixing the problems though. all in all, not a bad stay =) i would totally recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay on the strip, but not in the midst of it. ^_^

NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL
By ,
This was the worst vacation of my life. My daughter was robbed by an employee who worked on the second floor at fat tuesday daquari bar and the hotel didnt even give them a ride to the police station or comp them any food vouchers or anything. They had no money and I had to give my daughter and friend money to eat on. Our bathroom was disgusting, it had feces and blood on the toilet. Their were people having sex in the stairwell (just dispicable) they charged my credit card 100.00 for fees I don't owe. their room service added a 12.00 tip without my permission and the housekeep took my shoes and brush that was in the bathroom. This hotel was just horrible with the exception of their beds wich were very comfortable. I will never stay here again and I highly reccomend staying somewhere else

Great deal, totally loved it!
By ,
This was a totally awesome hotel. The room was a little small but was very clean and the beds were super comfy. We didn't have a view of the strip but we had a view of the mountains which was even better. The room what quiet except the sound of the wind whistling against the window. Loved the pool on the 8th floor. The restaurants downstairs left a little to be desired. Service was slow, but no biggie we just ate somewhere else. Overall this was a great experience and for the price you can't beat it. It is a little far from everything but a taxi ride is only $9-11 to get you to the other end of the strip. We loved it and would totally stay there again.
