Never Again
By gabrielle c, 01/01/10
The woman checking me in was so friendly. She showered me with coupons and promotional stuff. I started out with a good feeling, as I had never stayed here before. Once I got in the room, I realized that the majority of the coupons had expired. I prepaid the first night on the website, and upon check in was asked to prepay the second night in full. Strange, but whatever. I was with my boys, 13 and 22. We wanted to see what movies were available on their tv, but when we checked the movie menu, it said to contact the front desk. Was told that I would have to pay $100 deposit before I could watch a movie... Before I even get to see what the selections are??? The lady on the phone told me she could tell me all the movies over the phone, but there were alot, around 3 pages worth. Are you serious? So my son had to go down to the front desk to get the list. We were on the 24th floor. Easier said than done. Through the whole casino. He came back with only the first page. After an hour and a half, we gave up the idea. The boys decided to go up and do the rides. It was a slow night, and they were trying to shut down the rides early. The people up there were so rude to my boys. In their words, they are "over" the Stratosphere. The prepaying for everything is awkward and extremely inconvenient to the guests. We wanted to have lunch at the pool. Walked all the way there only to find out that the restaurant was closed. A heads up would have been good, considering the distances between everything. The room was clean, big bathroom, plenty of towels, but no ventilation. Stifling. For the first time ever, I paid for a hotel room that I didn't end up staying in. My kids and I unanimously decided to just hit the road back home to Orange County. Of course, I couldn't use their tv check out service, because we were leaving early! We thought to eat before we left Vegas, so we ate at Lucky's there at the Stratosphere on the way out. Oh my God, the service was terrible. Hardly any customers, extremely slow service. On the way out, I overheard some of the employees complaining about their jobs to each other. The food itself was good, but not good enough to ever want to eat there again. Next time, I will try someplace else. Upon checkout, I made some general complaints, and the lady helping me had an immediate response to everything, as though she has heard it all hundreds of times before. Their occupancy rate was 98%, so they really didn't care. The general area is pretty shady. We got accosted for money 3 times when we were getting gas in our car at the gas station next door, and witnessed a drug deal in front of the apartments across the street. My advice? Spend a few extra bucks, and find something a little further down the Strip.

Never again!
By Holley, 12/01/09
Well you do have to pay for internet, which is stupid, even cheaper hotels give free internet. The room we had was in the World II section and it felt like a cheap MOTEL. Behind the nightstand had a very thick coat of dust. Not good for our families allergies. That is the least of my complaints bc we didnt stay there much aside from sleeping, but we asked that a fridge be brought up to store our daughters breast milk (a $10/night charge) and they brought it up, plugged it in and we put the milk in there. The next day my husband and I were going to go out and leave our baby with my best friend and could not because the fridge was not working! They brought another up and it was the outlit that was broken. All they did was take away the charges for the fridge. Not very good service if you ask me. We will not be visiting here again. The top of the tower was nice though! Also we tried to get concierge to drive us to the airport the night before we left and they told us to call back in the morning and we did and then they told us that we need to book it 30 mins at least before and it would take an hr to get to the airport! And it is $8/person! It should be complinmentary!

The experience @ The Stratoshere
By Jessica, 11/18/09
The Stratosphere was overall nice. Compared to other hotels The Stratosphere may need to upgrade a little. I was kind of disappointed with the room though. We were suppose to be in a upgraded room, but honestly it seemed like a normal room. The view was wonderful. The room was clean as well. It's at the end of the strip so keep that in mind for first time goers who want to walk.

Great Experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/09
My husband and I stayed at the Stratoshpere for our anniversary weekend. I definitely recommend dining at the "Top of The World" restaurant! And check out the "Romance Lounge" afterwards! It has the best veiw of the strip and city lights! The hotel Casino was smaller then most and it's located at the end of the old strip. But the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. I think you are treated better because it's smaller. We will definitely go back!

Fun Experience
By 2HandzUp1913, 11/02/09
Known for their outdoor amusement ride,I enjoyed the story of the rides on the hotel television channel. The view of the city at the top is breathtaking. Hotel food was pretty good, service was great. The hotel was well maintained. The hotel staff was very professional and friendly. Our room was clean, although I would have preferred a better quality selection of hotel provided soap and lotion. The soap had a fragrance that was a bit strange and the lotion was heavily water based. The bathtub had a rather high step (appox 2'). This could be problematic for someone short in stature or with lower extremities mobility issues. The hotel provided coupon booklet had a nice variety and selection of discounts to use in the hotel. The hotel is located in an older part of the strip. but the bus service to the newer hotels on the strip was convenient. It was a reasonable amount using a taxi. Overall, very positive experience.

Nostalgic and Contemporary - Get It All
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/09
Love the Art Deco style. Views from the Tower are the best in Vegas. Food and Views from Top of the World Restaurant are incredible. This hotel has it all for everyone. For the young and brave at heart, the thrill rides at the top of the tower are world renowned. Darren Lee as Elvis in the Superstars show really makes you feel like Elvis is alive. Nino at Roni Josef Salon can give you an updo hairstyle that will make you feel like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. The location straddles the old strip and new strip. If you plan to visit both the old and new strip, this is the place to stay.

Perfect place
By robert, 09/18/09
We love the fact that they go out of their way to do what ever it takes to make your stay wonderful. We have been here 4 times in the past and never had a problem. The bus picks us up right outside the door. We get the 3 day for 15 dollars because we stay at least a week each time we go. Some of the reviews are crazy and should be read with common sense. If you are like the one guy don't say you were robbed trying to buy weed. This is not fair to the hotel. You will enjoy yourself if you go for the fun and not the illegal stuff. Strat we love you and will see you in feb. for 2 weeks this time.

Always loved the Strat!!!
By Tracy, 09/14/09
My husband and I always stay at the Strat. The service there is amazing from start to finish. We arrived early due to our flight and the always try to find us a room that is exactly if not better that we orignally booked. We stayed for eight days and seven nights and was upgraded to a suite for only $75 for the whole stay. Secerity is awsome, they make sure that no one that doesn't belong in the rooms even enter the elevators to the rooms. The staff always have a smile on their face, our room is always clean, no robberies, location is not a problem if we were too tired to walk, the duce stop is right there and that beats a cab any day. The only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough. My husband and I will be staying there again this March.

Good Value and Service
By Claudia, 08/14/09
My boyfriend and I often stay at the Stratosphere mainly for the price. The service has been good every time we visit. The rooms are clean and most of them have been remodeled. House keeping has always been attentive and the food is great. Especially the mexican food at "El Nopal" up at the mall area. It's a little far from the strip but the Duece literally stops right outside the door. And if you like going to Freemont St. then you're right in the middle. Good times there.
