Tahoe City Inn, Tahoe City

First off they are no longer called the Travelodge. They have changed their name to America's Best Value Inn Tahoe City (same owners as before). We chose this place to house members of our wedding party and guests because it was recommended. When we called to check up on how things were going, and we've found out that they had completely screwed up everybody's reservations and didn't apply any of the discounts they had promised. We had asked (Richard) for the owner to call us back, but it took more than two weeks and many return phone calls to finally reach them. Once we arrived, my Bride spoke with the owner and made sure everything was straight. With-in a few hours they rented one of our rooms out to another party and told us that our party was the one in the room. They argued with us even with the proper party standing right there with us! A few days later my Best man was sitting in his room watching TV when people just walked into his room. The Motel had checked him out a day early and rented it to another person! This place does not take personal responsibility for their actions; they blamed everything on their new computer system. I'm sorry, proper customer service does not start with excuses. They offer free Wi-Fi, but the room I was staying in had very little coverage. I kept losing the network connection. If you use Outlook you will not be able to send e-mail. They block the SSL port.

My husband and myself have been staying at this hotel for years and it just gets better. Rooms are small but well maintained. Now most rooms have refrigerators and mircowaves. Find the location great for skiing Alpine or Squaw, close to North Star also. Lovely view from the hot tub to the lake. many fine restaurants close by.
