I loved this place
By anon-a-mouse, 12/27/09
loved this place. Stayed here as it was the cheapest place in the middle of the summer without doing El Cheapo motel. My friends cheaped out in a lesser costly room. I had the high buck choice. Needless to say, I had to practically pry them off my patio being they er...didn't have a patio. The casino is in a separate bldg. which IMO is also a nice touch being sick and TIRED of walking out to the DING! DING! DING! of the usual casino hotel lobby slot machine noise. Ugh when you have a hang over. The room had a really cool rustic look to it without looking cheesy. Well maybe it was a bit cheesy...but cool. And like I said before - the patio. But the rooms with the patios do cost more but they are so worth it. I didn't do tons of gambling as we were really chasing one of our favorite rock bands all over Cali & Nevada but I did play a few hands of blackjack and didn't lose any money. The place is well within walking distance of the high buck hotels and all they have to offer. This is a great in between place cost wise to stay at especially if it's summer so you can walk around to all the other stuff. Lake Tahoe if you've never been, is completely stunning. And I grew up in Northern Minnesota - 10,000 Lakes and all. I'm also an only child so I always get my own room and this was a nice one that was affordable. (I NEVER room with other people EVER).

Low quality, Creepy,
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/23/08
Horrible hotel. I will break it down and be honest with you. The place looks very old, ghetto, low quality, creepy. My girlfriend was scared to stay in this place. A few months after I stayed there, they charge my credit card for a room and I havent been there since the first stay. I called Lake side inn and their front desk receptionist is extremely rude and called back later to talk to the manager. Horrible experience staying there and horrible experience afterwards. Spend a little more to avoid the uncomfortable stay there and avoid their habits to charge you for unautorized stays when you've nevered stayed there.

Lakeside Inn was awesome
By Kimberely, 02/07/07
The staff was nice, Miguel was helpful and the Timberhouse restaurant cashier/waitress in the wee hours of the morning was busy and alone but did an excellent job checking to make sure everything was fine. One security gaured, thin, about 40 to 50 yrs old was rude to my 2 boys when they were walking through the casino to go get a bite to eat at la Tabernera downstairs. He told them he was going to call the cops on them!!!

recommend you try the larger casino's
By A Yahoo! User, 10/16/06
The staff was not very courteous. The two times I questioned something, the staff became rude and argumentative. Why ask how the stay was if you don't really care? The mattress was worn out. Their response was I must be wrong as they recently remodled. The only positive things were the price, onion rings and the liquour store near by. You would be better off renting from the small motels a couple blocks in on the california side, or paying a couple extra bucks and staying at Harvey's.

Only place to stay in Tahoe!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/15/06
Listen everybody, we lived in tahoe for 6 years and mang, a midsize motel and the only place i would recommend you stay is lakeside. We use to sent other guest's to 3 or 4 other motels in tahoe, as most motels especially now i would not let my dog stay at. We just came back from lakeside and had the best time, drinks are $2, that's right any DRINK is $2, $ 9 prime rib dinner complete, rooms are super clean, pool was very nice, and why we stay here is the staff. In the years we sent our guest's to lakeside we did it because it is the only casino in tahoe that real treats guests very good, the other casino's really do not.The staff here makes the place from linda in reservations, to lauri & sandy in the bar area, plus they have the best security inside & Out.People like this make lakeside. I email the CEO of lakeside & believe it or not 48 hours later he email me back, when has that ever happen to you when your trying to reach the president of some company i would bet never.Living in tahoe for 6 years we knew where to stay ,where to eat, where not to go, but Lakeside is the #! place you want to stay in Tahoe, #!advice to future guest's of tahoe DO NOT stay at any MOTEL within 2 miles of the major casino's, These places are 60 years old and in a area you should not be at night.Try lakeside just once and i am sure you will like it, when we went back we did not stay at are old motel we stayed at Lakeside that should tell you something.

Hit or Miss

A favorite of locals, hey what can you say about a joint that has $2 drinks, a $2.99 breakfast and a VERY decent cut of prime rib at less than $10? It isn't the top notch resturaunt of the area, but it isn't as frequented by the tourists either (which locals love). Sometimes the service is less than 4 star but more often than not I leave well served and satisfied. You can have a very good meal with someone for around $25, of course with a bottle of wine it will run you a bit more, but you will still have a little extra scratch to dump in the casino if the spirit moves you. Downstairs in the Taberna, things are even less fancy and even more inexpensive, catering more to the clientele in the sports book that want to grab something quick and cheap between ponies or point spreads. Be sure to be thirsty if you order a Consuela from the drink menu, it's served in a huge bowl with a handy ladle to fill your glasses, it's a fruity concoction garnished with all sorts of citrus and pineapple slices, but muy potente alcohol wise. It isn't the #1 spot in town, but locals keep coming back again and again for the friendly service and cheap drinks and eats.
