We had read reviews on the Buffet at Riverside Resort Hotel before we left, but, we were stupid enough to not listen. The food looks great, but is terrible at the Buffet. We had a certificate for a free Prime Rib dinner at the hotel (Prime Rib Room). The meat looked like it had had water poured on it and grew to a piece of prime rib. Nothing we ate had any flavor at all, including the sour cream, butter, salad dressings, mushrooms or the au jus. When we told the waiter he seems really surprised that we didn't like the food. I am glad it was free, because I would never had paid for it. My husband and I took one bite of the prime rib and wondered what in the world it was. Guess people are not suppose to know what prime rib really tastes like.
The ventilation system needs to be updated. It does not filter out the smoke or stale old carpet as well as it could.
Of course, I could compain how tight the machines are, but that is happening at all casinos. This isn't unique to this hotel and casino.
The customer service staff, cocktail and restaurant waitress', waiters, change personnel, front desk were excellent. The view from the room was excellent.
Probably would never stay there again. I would rather spend the extra money and stay at Harrahs'. Food is so much better, air is cleaner.
