Holiday Motel Winnemucca, Winnemucca

Pulled into town, tired from travelling and not finding a place to stay because of a big event. Someone from another hotel called Helene & we had our two rooms. As we walked out the door, she said "Don't let the outside fool you." That made us wonder a little as we got back in the car........ Now, if you are a baby boomer, you will recognize a classic 60's "L" shape 2 story motel w/a pool in front. Nothing unusual, and I liked the pretty blue doors. But the room....what a surprise. Meticulously clean, all the amenities I could hope for (more than I got from Holiday Inn last week), and Helene could not have been more charming (AND a true Yankees fan!!!!) The decor feels more guest room than hotel room - like staying at a favorite friend's place. Very welcoming, very comfy. Coffee in the room, REAL glass glasses to drink from (how unusual is that) and a free continential breakfast. Although it is on a major street, we did not experience any serious noise issues. Not sure when I'll get back to Winnemucca, but at least I know where I will be staying when I do!!!!!!!!!

We made a quick trip to Winnemucca and booked the cheapest room we could find that would take pets. Boy were we pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room. Everything was clean and new. The front desk staff was super-friendly. Aside from a small parking lot, we were more than happy with what we paid for. We'll definitely stay here again!
