FANCY DANCY!!!!
By Margaret, 2/7/12
This hotel was fabulous. Okay I know usually stay at less exclusive places but holy wow and a half! The bellmen were so nice and polite! Opening the car doors, loading suitcases. They were just so very kind. The people at the front desk knew about our huge party. And they were all set for us! I got a suite with a handicap bathroom that you'd have to see to believe! It was at least three times the size of mine. And instead of a bath with a shower it had this little tiny decline (vs incline) that you sorta go down. It's hard to explain. Anyway the shower is a bit lower than the rest of the bathroom. Nothing for me to trip over! I made one teeny tiny request for hot cocoa and when I got back from y mornings doing there was a package sitting on the counter for me! And the employee didn't even ask me my room number! I had curtains on a remote! Never experienced that before! Wow! I can't figure the rest of this survey thing out! But if you're looking for a place to stay where you just want to be pampered this is the place to stay!

Perfect, perfect, perfect!
By Tara, 5/31/10
Went here for 1 year wedding anniversary and we loved it. An adorable vintage garden feel, with all the modern ammeneties. Chic yet comfortable and quaint. Great staff. Great location because you're literally steps from great shopping, a variety of dining options and night life.

Can't do any better in KC
You won't find a better room in KC for the price, even the standards have a sitting area and work desk like a mini suite. Location can't be beat either. Book it now, you won't regret it!

It was worth the money for the most part
By J.J., 12/1/08
My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel for our honeymoon we got the romance package and it was good. They offer wine and chocolates... the wine is cheap... but the chocolates are GREAT! When you go, should you go... check the rooms temperature... ours was very hot and they told us they turned the A/C off for the winter... it was easily 80+ degrees in that room... but they were courteous enough to bring us a fan. The room service, Valet service, and all of the other services were GREAT. It was just really hot in that room... and we were on our honeymoon.

Wait to book!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/07
Wait until this place has actually remodeled if you are expecting the Conde Nast treatment. If you want a quaint, nice, boutique hotel, until this place has been completely remodeled, I would book a room at the Hotel Phillips. Other than the location, there is nothing great about this hotel. I take that back. They serve yummy warm chocolate chip cookies in the lobby in the evenings. If you are into the 80's console tv sets, do not do it! They should not be booking rooms right now. It has awesome potential though!

Buyer Beware! Raphael Billing Nightmares!
By notta, 9/17/07
My company booked and paid for a three night stay at the Raphael. The front desk needed my credit card only for incidentals. When I checked out, there were no charges. To my great surprise, when I received my credit card bill I was charged for the room. Not just for the three nights I was there (which my company paid for) but for FIVE nights. Worse yet, my card was subjected to additional charges for the following week as well. Would the fraudulent charges keep coming? Calls to the Raphael to resolve the issue resulted in daily dumps to voicemail. I had no choice but to cancel my credit card, file a fraud report, and two months later I'm still calling the Raphael's accounting department to resolve the issue. The accountant ("Tara") has steadfastly refused to explain the charges, provide invoices, or respond in any intelligent way north of "huh?" Never again! Buyer beware!!!

A Dream Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/07
This Hotel was like a dream come true. The staff were most helpful and curteous of any I have even encountered. Rooms were marvelously large and well appointed. The little special touches like the monogrammed Towels were a wonder. Bathrobes were luxurious, soft and toasty. We got the Romance package were presently surprised by all the detail. Our bed was turned down and strown with fragrant rose petals. The Restaurant is quiet and the chef does a wonderful job. Everything we tried was past our expectations. I have wanted a trip like this for years and now that I have experienced it we will continue to be patrons of this Marvelous Hotel.
